Q: Can this vacuum cleaner be used on a shag area rug?

A: The UD20131 can be used on short pile carpets. There model does not have the option to adjust the brushroll higher to work sufficiently on shag carpet. A shorter shag yes, it could potentially work, however it may cause strain on the brushroll which could result in having to replace the belt sooner than every 6-12 months.

I’ve had this vacuum for 2 years and I’m needing to buy a new one. It doesn’t have great suction and it smells while using. I live in a 700 square foot apartment and only the 2 bedrooms have carpet. I’ve took it apart and deep washed the vacuum, always have cleaned it after use and I only live with my dog that’s hypoallergenic. For it to fail on me this quick when I don’t have long use time when I do use it is disappointing.

I have used my little dirt devil for at least two years on my wooden floors and area rugs. Great, and the filters are reasonable. I lost a part to the canister/dirt cup and can't find it anywhere. I think I threw it away when emptied the cup, or just set it aside to put a filter in and forgot to replace it. I don't even know what the part is called;. filter tube?, separator? I just bought a lot of replacement filters too. :(

This is the worst vacuum I have ever used. I wasted my money on it and I am very displeased. It just pushes whatever you’re trying to clean around. It doesn’t suck anything up. It spits the dirt and debris out the back, and the little handheld vacuum on it is so unsteady and falls apart very easily. -10/10. I would give it zero stars if I could.

If I can leave a zero star review I would. I bought this vacuum a couple months ago, it worked the first couple of times..or so I thought. Now every time I use this vacuum trash and dirt and dog hair just flies around my entire house. It doesn’t do anything but push dirt around the floor. And I’ve tried looking into the hose, cleaning it out, even trying to clean out the brush that spins when you use the vacuum. Nothing works. I don’t recommend this at all.
