Q: Can the green legs be taken off so that the tub could be used/rest in a single basin kitchen sink?

Q: Is if BPA free or not? The question has not been answered

submitted by Shopper - 2 years ago
  • A: We design and engineer thousands of toys and children’s products, and each model is evaluated to make sure it meets stringent safety standards. Our internal product safety procedures are designed to meet or exceed regulations and laws enforced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and their regulatory counterparts around the world. In toys, BPA is most often found in a material called polycarbonate, which is a very strong and clear plastic that is used in many products to prevent them from shattering or breaking. We set a standard that polycarbonate cannot be used in any product that is intended to be mouthed or touch food or made for a child under the age of 3, with the exception of power adapters and DVDs. For products with polycarbonate, we continue to pursue viable alternatives. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) So this is not my first time buying one from you guys I have bought the ones like this 10 years ago I keep coming back to this style and to the people that are claiming mold under the label that's not mold that's is glue and paper residue so use Goo be gone on it and you'll be fine and for the sling I dry it with a hair dryer and I would wash it with laundry soap after each use you probably can put it In cold wash and dry in your washer and dryer in a net bag with not heat and it be wash and dry think smarter only thing I would recommend is that they make the stickers just out of plastic and not paper and plastic so it is easier to remove and people won't be claiming it's mold

Sling/infant stage works really well. The tub plug is located under the seat making it hard to drain once the seat is installed. Also the seat fits snuggly so not easy to pop in and out to access the plug. Tub designed well for dual basin kitchen sinks however it can be difficult for shorter parents to lift baby into/out of tub when on top of sink. Overall tub serves its purpose but has some drawbacks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So when I got it the seat part was already in it. I cannot get it out and am afraid I will break it. Very frustrating other than that it is a great tub

This infant tub does not fit well in our sink so I tried it in the bath tub with our 2 week old. The sling is fine but to reach the drain plug underneath is awkward and then it was sitting flush with the actual tub and wouldn't drain until I lifted it up. The feet on the tub are just plastic so they slide all over as I'm trying to adjust the baby and drain the water. The tub made for an annoying experience which is already difficult with a newborn so I'd not recommend this item. I'd return it but I threw away the box.

Past the newborn sling stage the tub is the worst. Using the seat support for a 4 month old doesn’t work because he is constantly looking down so it’s difficult to wash his hair out. Using the seat support as a recline support is even worse because the water plug is under the seat so you have to lift the tub to let the water out and once you do his skin rubs on the tub causing it to be all red and the plug can’t be closed again. Using the tub without the seat support just causes him to slide down. This was our first week out of the newborn sling and we both did not enjoy bath time. I’m going to buy a new tub today.

I’m surprised to see so many bad reviews. I’ve had this tub for over 4 years and am using it for my second child. It’s very good when you take care of it and wash it after every use. I’ve never had a problem with it cutting my baby’s toes. You have to snap the green part in very well while using it for stage 2 and 3. My son is 5 months and over 22 lbs and he still uses it. It’s convenient and easy to clean.

We really like this tub and the different stages. We just recently moved our 11wk old (14.8lb) month old out of the sling and now put his head on the green foam piece and his butt rests on the lip of the green seat. He loves splashing in the water. A word of CAUTION though, the bloody toe thing does happen but at least for us not how people are saying. There are no sharp edges but what it is is the toes rubbing on the rough plastic green chair over and over as they kick. It just rubs it raw. I've now started placing a hand towel across the chair insert. Are there better tubs? Maybe but we do like this one. I would still recommend even with the flaw, you just need to be careful.

This tub doesn’t work for me at all! The newborn sling only submerges part of baby’s bum, if I fill the tub any more her ears go under. Without the newborn insert, I have to hold a hand under her bum because there is nothing to hold her in place! Perhaps I’m doing something wrong, but in that case it isn’t very user friendly! It’s also hard to clean, too heavy to hang on my shower rod like it’s intended to do, and very big and hard to store!

Black mold- poor design

Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this product. The tub is great, apart from the black mold that’s growing under the warning label. I throughly dry the tub after every use and keep it in a dry place. I don’t feel comfortable washing my baby in a tub with black mold, so this is going in the garbage.

I’ve only used this for the infant stage but I’m already only partially satisfied. My concern with the infant stage is that while my baby loves the sling, I can’t get it at an angle where his mouth wouldn’t dip under the water without me holding him up. The tub is also very bulky without any places to put bath accessories. It does seem sturdy and easy to clean.

We received this bathtub from our baby registry and loved it while using it for our newborn. However, we have since graduated to the next step and have noticed it creates blisters on our little ones pinky toes like other reviewers mentioned. This alone makes me advise anyone against purchasing this. Major design flaw and now we have to buy a new tub.

I loved this tub with the sling for newborn, but once you take it out and put the green seat in, you can't get to the drain. The seat is hard to remove one handed (while holding your babe), so it's pretty inconvenient.

DO NOT BUY! So dangerous, just like other reviewers have commented tore up my baby’s pinky toe. Was bleeding and is now all scabbed up. I can’t believe this hasn’t been recalled. I thought I could trust the fisher price brand but honestly this is just so horrible and literally injuring babies. I am going to keep trying everything to get my money back on this one.
