Hamilton Beach 4 Slice Easy Reach Oven - Gray 31334

I researched the best toaster oven for the elderly and this one came up. We bought it for my mother in law for Christmas. She LOVES it, The top opens like a old breadbox and it does not take up much counter space. Win-win.

This model solves the problem I’ve had with other brands/models; the door. Other brands/models have a hinged door that would pull the grill out but get stuck when I wanted to shut the door. This one has a retractable door. Very nice!! I feel the knob hides the numbers on the right hand side of the dial, but that’s a minor negative detail. The unit works really well out of the box and looks very neat.

We needed a simple, convenient toaster oven for our senior father. This one is perfect. 2 dials, lift up lid.

I absolutely love that the door lifts up so that it’s not always getting dirty like the other doors you have to pull the food across to get it out. This is the second one I’ve purchased.

Not heating up until I turned the temperature button to 350.

Great toaster... loved it! The door design is great... wish all toasters were this way. But the upper heating element failed after 17 months (rendering the entire toaster inoperable). I figured we just got a bum unit and I was ready to replace it. But now looking at reviews, I see numerous other people have experienced the same issue, so there's no point in replacing it... it will just happen again. Hamilton Beach usually makes great products, but on this one it appears there is some sort of inherent design defect in the burner element.

Excellent oven for toasting, with it's easy removable door and floor plate. Great for frozen pizzas and waffles. The plug is long enough and cleaning is easy. A favorite for my kitchen.

Just the right size!

I love the design and size of this toaster oven. It fits in my kitchen where larger ones with a hinged door wouldn’t. However, this is my second one to stop working within 18 months. There is a manufacturer warrantee but I’d have to pay shipping both ways. Also be aware that the outside left and top have no insulation and get very hot.

Already looks dingy and rusty (see photos). As others have commented, there is a wide gap in the front of the oven, and the included little baking sheet became warped after one use. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because I like being able to completely remove the hood for cleaning.

This is going back. Why is there a gap in the door letting heat escape?!?! I wanted to love this bc of the beautiful design but it is cheaply made. It heats up the kitchen like a oven. I also tried toasting an ego 2x. Burnt it both times. I’ve never owned a toaster oven before, but from experience at other people’s homes, it shouldn’t function this way. Not a fan. It’s going back.

Love the easy clean option

It's a good toaster. I like that it comes with a tray (though it warps when it gets hot). It toasts well and evenly. It cooked other food well, and the broil function works though you have to turn the items to get an even broil (for toast you don't). I like that the cover slides up so it doesn't take up counter space when you open the door, as normal toasters would with the pull-down door. However, you have to be careful how you open this. If you grab the handle and the middle and lift up, the heat blasts your arm. I've taken to grabbing the right side of the handle so my arm is over the controls. That way the heat doesn't hit my arm. Also, this toaster feels very hot on the outside, particularly in front of the glass. I was standing a couple of feet away the first time I turned it on and I could feel the heat radiating off of it. Wow. But otherwise I really like this toaster and am glad I bought it. Looks really nice, too. By the way, yes, there is a loud tick-tick-tick when it's on the timer, but don't all toasters tick? It doesn't tick in broil mode though. It makes a clear bell-like ding when it's finished toasting.

the glass dorr does not close tight so that heat comes out from both sides to the room making the room very hot. Can't clean the inside of the glass door because there is no space for a hand when it opens up over the steel area. Toaster oven is burning on all sides on the outside, can easily burn your hands (or the electric cord on the back because the back gets hot too). After having many toaster ovens, this one is the worst. threw it away after one month

Have been using product for ~2 weeks. Nice design, cooks evenly. Seems to be a quality, consistent product.

easy to use, cover rolls back for ease of placement, and retrieval of food, and the removable lid is good for cleaning, I like this toaster oven and recommend it.

Great for the price. The door goes up and in which is a great feature. Nice darker pewter color. Good value
