Works very well. Came with no recipe guide. Not huge deal. Self explanatory, but would have liked different ideas.

I bought this same item years ago. This newer version does not perform as well as my previous one. It does not close as well being lighter and the top does not snap to stand up right for storage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach Quesadilla Maker does what it says -- it makes quesadillas. It's easy to use and relatively easy to clean (there's one note to make about that later in the review) and the only big con for me is that it's a uni-tasker. If you make quesadillas constantly, then this might be for you (please be aware that you need to use 7-8" tortillas, any bigger and it won't fit inside and any smaller and the ends may not seal properly). If you only occasionally make quesadillas, this may gather dust on your countertop until needed. As a quesadilla maker, it's sturdy (though the top lid on my unit was a little loose) and easy to clean, though watch out of the edges. If you overfill the quesadilla and the filling leaks out during cooking, it could get into the crack between the cooking surface and the outer shell of the maker (see photo) which would be more difficult to clean. There's also no timer of any sort, so you have to lift the lid and visually inspect the quesadilla to check if it's done. I do like the locking lid though, as it makes for easy storage and moving the unit. That said, I docked one star for the minor issues listed prior. Again, my big con is that this only does one thing. I tried heating up a Chinese pancake in it as because of the curves in the heating element to make a portioned quesadilla, you can see where the heating elements touched the pancake and where it didn't. (And to be fair, the pancake I used was very thin, a thicker one probably would have fared better.) Overall, I don't think this is a must have. As a quesadilla maker, I think it works well (therefore the 4 star rating) but that's all ti does. If you're a big quesadilla fan, then this is nice to have, but if you're not, maybe give this one a pass.
Stomachs will be full!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great color. Went perfectly with my red kitchen cart. The Quesadilla maker was very easy to use. I cleaned it before using, like the instructions say. I am a heavy butter user and the Quesadilla maker held it's ground. It took less than 2 minutes to heat up. Once I put the tortillas and cheese, the magic begun. It smelled amazing. Once they were ready. I put them on plates and they were gone in seconds. I did not have time to get a picture. I even used the Quesadilla maker outside. I plugged it in to the cart. Voila!! Quesadillas outside. It's fun and easy to use. Easy to clean, too.
So easy to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this quesadilla maker way more than I thought I would! It’s incredibly user friendly and easy enough that my young daughter can use it and help make quesadillas. There are no buttons, switches, or ways to mess it up. You simple plug it in, wait for the light to show it’s hot enough, put your quesadilla together, press the top down and wait until the other button says it’s done. It takes me all of 3-4 minutes to make a delicious quesadilla. The ease and quickness of this little machine would make it perfect for a dorm room, an RV or a growing family. It’s super easy to clean up and uses no oil. I’m able to wipe it out with a paper towel and go on with my evening without having to clean a bunch of pans. The other thing I like about this machine is that it can be used for far more than just quesadillas, you can make eggs, French toast, or panini-like sandwiches inside. It’s a lovely little versatile machine that is easy and fun to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This quesadilla has made it so easy to get a perfect quesadilla every time. The instruction booklet really helps to perfect the process. It is important to read the instructions prior to use, I did not and I messed up the first one. It heats up quickly and cooks the quesadilla pretty fast. I expected it to take a lot longer to cook but it does not take long at all, a few minutes and it is done. The cooking plates do not stick but I still use cooking spray. The plates themselves leave indents in the quesadilla that is helpful when cutting it when it is done cooking. Perfect sized cuts every time. When the quesadilla is done it is cooked thoroughly and nice and crispy but not overly cooked or burnt at all. Cleanup is easy as the cooking plates wipe clean with a paper towel and the machine itself is easy to wash with soap and water. It stores easily and takes up minimal room in my cabinet. So easy the whole family can use it. I have kids age seven to eighteen and they can all use it without issue. Definitely a useful small appliance for the kitchen to make meals and snacks a little easier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hamilton Beach Quesadilla Maker is so awesome. My grandson who is 10 years old loves Quesadillas but he can't make them on the stove yet. He can use the Quesadilla maker and he loves it. He sometimes puts too much cheese in it but there is a circle on the inside that it goes into. He loves that they come out crunchy. He likes the lines that make it easy to cut into pieces. It is so easy to clean and we love that to storage it you just stand it up on a counter or in a cupboard.
Just get it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have really enjoyed the Hamilton Beach Quesadilla Maker. I did not know that I needed one of these until I got one! My teenage daughter can easily make her own with my help. Just put a tortilla on the bottom, fill with cheese (or other fillings), top with a second tortilla and close the lid. It's that easy! It also makes indentions into the tortilla to pull apart the pieces. Great for a quick snack or meal!
Just ok.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great, in theory. First off, it looks great. Color is nice and the finish is good. Seems like it will be durable. It starts to go downhill when you open it. It has good weight to it which is a good sign but when you lift the lid it feels very flimsy. The lid/top has so much play in it in every direction that it doesn't inspire much confidence in the longevity of the appliance. It doesn't exactly feel like it is going to fall off but it does make it seem a little sketchy. That being said, it functions exactly as it should since it needs a little leeway to accommodate your ingredients. Now to the inside. The non stick surface is decent. I say "decent" because it does it's job well as far as food releasing easily but the plates seem to made of very lightweight/thin material and by extension the coating on them. Again this doesn't say much for longevity but time will tell. The segmented design of the plates is effective and makes for easy portioning. More on this later. The "locking mechanism" isn't great but it works, mostly. When preheating the lock works fine as gravity automatically engages it. Once you have your ingredients inside it's another story. You basically have two choices. 1. ignore the lock and take your chances with leakage on the sides due to your quesadilla not sealing around the edges as intended by this design. Or. 2. Mash that hot lid down until it locks in place. This takes considerable effort even with minimal filling as the unit wants to slide away under the pressure necessary to lock it down. It works as long as you are careful. THERE IS NO TIMER. You need to pay attention with this one but that's not a big deal it only takes a couple of minutes and you're good. Back to the plates inside. They are not removable for cleaning. BIG PROBLEM. Here's why. The instructions are pretty clear when they say "don't overfill". Easier said than done is an understatement. I really took this to heart on my first go around. I wasn't super chincy on the filling but my finished product was underwhelming. It was cooked great. No problem there, but the filling was severely lacking, not really what you want in a quesadilla. My next go around was different as I bumped up the amounts a bit while still keeping in mind "don't overfill". I should add that I was only using two ingredients both times. Cheese and pepperoni. Not exactly bulky by any stretch. The big difference this time was the leakage. From pretty much all sides. With the lock in place. I assure you, I did not "overfill". Not if you want a quesadilla with any meaningful substance at all. This barely qualified. That being said it was better than the first but I'm not sure the cleanup was worth it. Cheese in cracks and crevices that are a pain to attempt get out of while it's hot and far worse if you let it cool. THESE PLATES NEED TO BE REMOVABLE! Overall it does work. It's super easy to use. It makes a nice crispy little treat IF you can find the sweet spot with your filling. I haven't found it yet but I'm pretty sure it exists. I hope this helps.
My newest favorite product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is going to be quesadilla night "every night" in our household thanks to this amazing quesadilla maker! The design is very user friendly and the bold color really makes it stand out in a positive way while using it. This product works best when you add the ingredients closer to the center of each tortilla as this allows the ingredients room to "move" without bleeding over the edge once the lid is closed. I love how it perfectly cinches each triangle and the material of the maker makes it super easy to slide the quesadilla out once it's finished cooking. Cleanup was a breeze as the material is nonstick! I cannot wait to come up with even more unique quesadilla combinations to cook!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We tried this product out by making a cheese quesadilla using large flour tortillas and shredded cheddar cheese. It was easy to use and the instructions were clear. It was a little difficult to get the latch to "catch" when we went to cook the quesadilla, but maybe we used too much cheese and the pockets were too full. The cord was a little short for our kitchen and the instructions say to keep it well ventilated, which was hard to do with such a short cord - not a deal breaker though - just an observation. I like the red color and the sleek style. It doesn't seem like it will take up too much space in my cupboard. Overall, we really liked it and I see it getting the most use by my teenage kids as an afternoon snack.
Love this

I have used this for years and just ordered another for a family member. It seams like an unnecessary item because you can make them in a skillet, but it's so easy to use and clean that even teenagers will make their own!! That's worth it in my book!
