The second cleaning is a bleach solution to disinfect the humidifier. We do advise that both of these be done weekly when the unit sees regular use. Q: how do you fill it do you have to take the top off

However, the dripping you are hearing is normal for this unit, as well as any humidifier with a removable water tank, as this is the sound of the water leaving the tank and entering the base. The humidifier works very well. It’s easy to refill and very quite. There is a nicely dim white light that changes to orange when the water needs to be refilled. The essential oils tray is basically worthless. While this would have been an added bonus, the description did say it was passive and not an actual diffuser. As a pure humidifier, it is great. We have a different brand humidifier that is a few years old. This one is soooo much quieter. We will likely purchase a second one to use in another room.

I love this humidifier! It has definitely improved my allergies and sleep. I live in a dry environment, and this thing has really delivered. I have one major complaint, though. The drawer for the essential oil pad is VERY difficult to open. I still give this product five stars, but I hope this one aspect can be improved.

I selected this model after reading Consumer Reports’ reviews on humidifiers. I wish it was the black model but they’re nowhere to be found right now. Anyway, the white is the same model. I’ve only had it for a week or two, but it’s already shown itself to be a great machine. It takes a gallon of water and, depending on your humidifying needs, that gallon can last for 24+ hours. Lots of variables, but essentially it is just very efficient. It’s also super quiet for the size and output! I can hear the occasional trickle of the water in the tank, but the house would have to be completely silent and I’d have to be in the same room. I’m just really impressed with this humidifier and will definitely getting another one.

I just bought this and am super disappointed by how loud it is. I'm wondering if I got a faulty one because it definitely should not be this loud. loud gurgle and dripping noises even on lowest setting. will need to return.

Does the Job

Our whole house humidifer's sensor quit and so this was purchased as a temporary solution. So far, it has just as good a job as the whole house system. This is likely as our basement has not dried out yet from the summer humidity and we only need the main level living room/dining room humidified. The one change in design I'd make, if such were possible, is to spec a stronger blower for better dispersion. The mist does not really go very far before falling down to the floor. Cleaning so far (after only a week's use) has not been an issue, likely because we are using filter water.

Stable until it smoked

I love the design of this humidifier -- most importantly, the tank sits flat for filling, but it also looks sleeker than your standard blue humidifier. Like my other Honeywell humidifier, it is not easily destabilized. I used this for two winters and just busted it out for its third season last week. After a couple of days I found water pooled beneath it but mistook that for condensation. Tonight it began smoking. If there's one thing a humidifier should never do, it's catch fire. I feel it's failed sooner than I'd expect, and I don't think user error is the issue (but who knows, it's been a long pandemic). I'm mostly concerned with how it failed, since there was a risk to safety. Considering that it cost nearly twice as much as the blue Honeywell humidifier I've had going strong for five years, I'm surprised and disappointed. I won't buy this same model again.

I bought this Feb 2021 and it's now Aug 2022. The humidifier still works but the power setting broke and now it only can be off or on high. No leaks, easy to fill and use. I like the humidifier for the most part but the high setting is a lot of moisture and leaves surgaces wet

It sounds like the mineral content in the water you are using is high, which can cause this ultrasonic humidifier to produce white dust on surfaces or furniture. To clarify, these types of machines turn the water into a mist and throw it out into the air. Whatever minerals/elements are in the water are also in the mist being put out by the machine. As the moisture evaporates into the air, the minerals/elements are left behind and will settle around the room as dust, and in most cases it is white. It is not harmful in any way; it is just the contents of your water. To prevent this from happening/reducing the amount of dust, distilled or purified water can be used in your machine. The amount of white dust you get is directly related to the hardness of your water. We hope this is helpful.
