The Honeywell Humidity Monitor helps you maintain comfortable humidity levels in your home by monitoring the humidity level. Ideal humidity level is between 40-60% relative humidity (RH). Relative humidity (RH) is the amount of moisture in the air compared to how much moisture the air can hold. The higher the RH, the more humid it feels. The warmer the air, the more moisture it can hold. That’s why it feels more humid in the summer. Cold air does not hold as much moisture as warm air. In cold winter months, a humidifier can add moisture to the room air, making the room feel more comfortable. Raising the humidity level in a cool, dry room also makes it feel warmer.
The combination of a marginal sensor, over-optimized electrical design (too much cost down) and a poor packaging design (the air access holes in the device, not the shipping package) lead to severe inaccuracy. It is junk and should never have made it to market.

We're sorry to hear this product did not meet your expectations. This is not the performance we’d expect from this product. Please email us at SocialSupport@helenoftroy.com so we can help.
On my unit the thermometer works accurately, but the humidity sensor is just stuck on 15% no matter where I put the unit. I have verified with another hygrometer that the actual humidity in my house is much higher, around 35% to 45% depending on which part of the house I'm in.

The temperature reading is accurate. However the humidity reading is off by 15%. I kept this item because I got it so I know the temperature in my living room. I know it’s accurate because I set it on top of my thermostat and it read the same temperature as my thermostat as well as it matches another thermometer I have. However the humidity part was 15% off from something else I bought specifically to measure humidity. Also if the humidity part of it was right my hands would be in much worse condition not to mention other areas of my body would be extremely dry and they are not.
1) it has no back light. Hard to read the black digits, especially if you're older (like me) or if there isn't a lot of light where you keep it.
2) Be sure to remove the film that is covering the readout screen. Otherwise you'll just see what is printed on the film and you won't think that it is working
3) No on/off switch if that's important for you
4) The readings seem to be fairly accurate as far as i can tell
