A: Hello Scotty. Great question! The Instant Pod was the first version of the coffee pod machine. The Dual Pod is the newest version that has some slight cosmetic differences as well as the added BOLD feature.

Brews a yummy cup of coffee and espresso, but this thing is SO finicky. I have to unplug it and plug it back in multiple times to get it to turn on at all, sometimes the espresso side pulls straight water despite having a pod in, and it’s LOUD. I want to return it.

It’s not cheap, but I can’t argue with the results: These are by far her favorite cat beds. I also appreciate that they came with a pretty good coffee maker. The k-cups were straightforward and easy enough to use. With the nespresso ones, I had some difficultly initially. I wasn’t fully opening the top, so those pods weren’t going all of the way in, but I only wasted one pod and a few cups worth of water before figuring it out. They’re also automatically ejected into an internal compartment. (Just pull out the fold-down tray to dispose of them.) Another neat feature is the low-water sensor: it won’t brew anything once it’s triggered, but it also gets triggered early enough to be able to finish whatever is currently in process. I have noticed that the water storage tank can leak a little if I set it down directly on the counter (versus putting it back in the machine), but it’s easy enough to avoid doing that. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. Granted, I didn’t own any type of instant coffee machine before this one. I’d only used them in hotels (both types), and I could never decide which type to get. Because I got it on sale, it was also cheaper than buying two separate machines. My only regret is not buying it sooner.

I really wanted to love this. It would have been the best of both worlds. The ability to have Nespresso & K Cups…what could be better. Out of the box this machine feel very cheaply made. Definitely not worth the price tag. Attempted to brew my first pod & nothing but water came out. Fiddled around with it a few times & finally got it to brew. That part is really easy which I love. After I brewed my coffee the spout just kept dripping. In fact it never stopped. I had to keep a cup under there. There is also water in the pod reservoir every time I brew anything. The K cup section brews nicely but coffee grounds are everywhere after each brew. I gave it a couple of days but I will be returning it. In my opinion it’s just not worth the price or the frustration.

My wife bought the instant pot dual coffee maker as a gift for me. After less than 5 weeks of moderate use, the K cup side produced only water even when there was a K cup in the slot. The company responded to my video of the operating failure by offering me a new machine. Nice. Then, after a couple of weeks, the new one had the same mal-function. Look elsewhere and save yourself the grief. This machine has a design flaw.

I love that I can make coffee (k cups) or espresso, OR BOTH. There is even an option to make your beverage “bold”. Good size water tank. Splashes a bit if you don’t have the right size cup. Brews quickly but seems to drip a bit longer than the Kuerig machine I used before. However I will never switch back!

Bought this machine mainly for the Nespresso features, but have also ended up using the K-Cup side with the included reusable K pod. We are very happy with the results. We had a trip to Europe this summer and came back wishing we could make good espresso at home. For us this does the trick. Really, really good coffee!

This does make good coffee I should say first and foremost. The espresso was nice and smooth and the kcup blend came out just right and at the perfect temperature. However, it is the loudest coffee maker I have ever had! My husband and I have both tried it on different settings and it sounds like a train is going through the kitchen. Not sure if we will be keeping it or not.

I wanted to love this but ended up returning it. The coffee was never hot enough, the machine was VERY loud. It did brew a nice strong brew but I always ended up needing to heat up my coffee. You’ll also have a hard time fitting any funky shaped mugs because of how the machine is shaped. Overall it’s a decent machine if you’re in to Nespresso pods and k-cups but this wasn’t for me.

I really had high hopes for this coffee maker but in the end I returned it. The Nespresso maker was fine and made a great 2oz espresso. The Keurig side, however did not measure up. My Keurig that died was a newer model that made multiple holes in the pod. The Instapot only made one and I think that is the reason the Keuring side made weak coffee, even with the bold button pressed.
