Description

Give your kid the space to tinker, to engineer and to create whatever they can dream in the innovative Hobby Workshop Playhouse by KidKraft. At first glance, this slanted roof wooden building resembles a tool shed. Complete with its own roll-up "garage" door and ample windows, it has the grownup aesthetics little builders will love, but with definitely kid-approved features inside and out. There's so much to keep both their hands and their minds busy. Inside, discover an elevated desk with a smooth top for drawing or crafting. Lift up the lid to reveal storage underneath. Three paint cups are built right into the desk for easy and stable access. A wooden moveable bench is included to really get up close to your project. Varying sized storage bins clip on to the wall to hold small pieces and art supplies. Just like a makerspace area, we've installed a peg board across the back wall to be a canvas to imagination. Insert the curved sections and the spinner into the wall to create your own ramp design. Drop the ball and watch gravity and inertia happen. There's also a kid-friendly hammer, screwdriver and 10 plastic bolts included to practice tool skills. Outside, a storage bin can also be used as a bench for a place to rest when you're tired of all that work. Whew! For the kid who wants more than just a simple outdoor playhouse, the Hobby Workshop is the smart choice.

The end product is worth the build! The instructions are very exact and as long as you don’t overtighten the screws, the wood stays in tact. Our daughter loves it.

Front door came scratched and paint chipped off

The design is cute. I'm disappointed that a few pieces of wood came cracked and especially disappointed that the cute red door had a deep scratch on it and had paint missing. It was easy to assemble and I imagine my grandson will enjoy his workshop.

Easy to Assemble and a Ton of Activity

We put our Hobby Workshop in the living room and it gives our toddler the perfect location to hide away and work on projects while Mom and Dad are reading or making dinner. He has a ton of storage space to stash books and crayons and balls. Plus there are a lot of fun elements like the crank up door and the bird house (which he's waiting for a bird to land in). Assembly was easy enough. It took about 4 uninterrupted hours to execute.

Imaginative play

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hobby Workshop Wooden Playhouse comes in a single box with lots of wooden and plastic pieces and around 200 screws that are needed to be assembled. In order to assemble the playhouse you will need a drill to screw all the parts together. I found it to be a great project to do with my elementary and Junior high kids. It does however take a while to put together. It is a perfect playhouse for a preschooler or young elementary aged kid. My preschooler enjoys the rolling door to add a fourth wall to the playhouse or as he calls his fort.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids love their new hobby workshop playhouse! It has lots of room for play and so many activities for them to do. I love the realistic design of a workshop with the cute windows and wood look. There is a workspace center that my kids love to play at and are entertained for hours. This is a great playset and is made with great quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was an absolute pain to put together, and the wood splits very easily when putting it together. I unfortunately handed one of the sides of the house to my husband backwards so we had to create some additional holes in order to avoid taking the entire thing apart. Even with all the hiccups and headaches, my son absolutely loves his “workshop” and he refuses to leave it even if it’s raining outside. It’s also a decent enough size for his 10 yr old sister to sit in there with him.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I just moved into our new house and the backyard wasn't ideal for a 4 year old and 2 year old. This Hobby playhouse is absolutely a life saver for kids entertainment. My son sees it as a workshop while my daughter prefers it as her garden tool shed. Awesome all the way around! I highly recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can’t believe I’m about to say this .. but this was such an easy build. I built it alone, which, if you’ve ever built anything that came in a box, is practically impossible. My three little girls absolutely love this play house. It was much taller than expected, just short of 5 feet. I was able to crouch inside, I’m 5’1”. It came with so many little places for them to play, make “salads” from the lawn and play pretend with their toys. Absolutely recommend this playhouse!!

It took several days to put it together but we only did a couple hours a day. It is stable and the wood quality is excellent. All the small details really make this playhouse stand out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve only had this for a week but it’s already been worth it. Definitely took a good amount of time to put it together but I expected that. I didn’t have any trouble putting it together but it’s definitely easier if you have at least a little experience with tools and working with wood. Instructions did a god job of making install as easy as it could be. My 4yr old son has had a blast in it and loves playing with the ball drop on the outside. He hasn’t played as much inside of it but we haven’t had a friend over just yet. Ok sure he’ll continue to have hours of fun inside this.

Great quality playhouse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Kidcraft Hobby Workshop playhouse is really good quality. It’s real quality wood. My 4yr old loves it. It has a lot of different things in the house for him to do his imagination playing. He loves the garage door. He said it’s like our garage door where mommy and daddy park. It was fairly quick to put together. It took my husband and I (mainly him doing) about 3 hours to put the house together with our son helped. It probably would be a lot quicker if it was just him alone without our help hahaha. The wood is a little splinter-ish so I go recommend doing a little sanding afterward to make sure the little ones doesn’t get splinter. Overall, this is a really good quality playhouse for little kids with a lot of little things for them to entertain themselves.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got this put together today. For the most part, it was very simple and easy to put together. Did take about 6 hours build time with my son. The issues I had with it were items that said that they needed to be flush and set tight against places, couldn’t. This was due to error on the precut wood/item. This happened with quite a few pieces but I was able to reconfigure how to put it together. Example of this, some pieces were too long, so where things notched in tightly didn’t work. Another thing, tape measure is needed and it would just be simpler to have had the places marked like most pieces do. The best part about this is it takes a power drill, and the bit for it is a square shape instead of a Phillips head screw driver. This makes for no chance of stripping the screw or the drill bit. Genius item to have. All in all, very adorable piece and my girls are extremely happy to finally have it together after waiting a week for the rain to stop to build it. Can’t wait to see them enjoy it this summer!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wahoo I did it! I put the million pieces together, alone, and it only took 3ish hours. When I opened the box and saw the number of pieces I got nervous but the instructions were fabulous to follow and it was easy, just time consuming. The quality is great. We are huge fans of the product brand and we know it’s a quality wood. Only plastic is the accessories and add on toys and windows. It’s extremely stable and well crafted. Love the fact the roof slants so water will roll off, I just wish it slanted the opposite way so it didn’t land on the storage area but it’s whatever. The kids love it. We had a smaller one and it held up through winter and doesn’t lose its color. Great product!

Sturdy and Great quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The KidKraft Workshop/Wooden Playhouse is really nice. Great quality and assembly instructions are clear and detailed with great pictures to reference. It took me a few hours to put the Playhouse together and my girls love it (ages 4 and 6). I love the fact that some larger pieces came already assembled. All pieces were properly labeled with a sticker and well organized. All screws were in separate bags and just in case you lose some, some extra hardware is provided. Assembling was not too hard. The playhouse has a nice sturdy roof, bench, containers for tools, a large pegboard, storage, and a working station. On top of it, I like the roll-up shade/side and the doggy door. It came with a bunch of peg board tools and toys. Again, very well made. It's definitely worth every penny.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a neat idea for a small playhouse. This is great for boys or girls and has lots of neat features included with it. That being said plan on spending 4-5 hours assembling. It isn't hard, but there is a lot of pieces to put together. I wish the instructions were a little better. It does say that it works with the bilt app, but I was unable to find it on the app. The app shows more graphics and allows for better understanding of the orientation of the pieces. Overall it feels sturdy and can't wait to see the kids enjoying it once it stops raining.
