This grinder is awesome!!! A couple things that I really like about it is that it has a fairly strong motor and fully grinds your beans even to a fine powder. Second thing that awesome is the dome lid that you press down into the unit instead of just a flip top lid. This eliminates any coffee dust particularly from coming out and making a mess. Highly recommend this grinder.

Suddenly stopped working

I used it mainly to grind spices for some special dishes which is hardly once in 2 months. Last week, it ground the spice in the 1st go & then for some reason, it just doesn't turn on. I have tried turning it on to test but it just wont turn on. No idea what is the matter.

Gave me VERY uneven grinds for my coffee beans, even though I was vigorously shaking. I think I would've waited to invest in a better one or a burr grinder, because honestly it was THAT bad! some were medium-fine while others were about 1 cm in diameter.

Wrong instructions, cracks easily

I did not risk a lot of money by purchasing this Mr. Coffee grinder (IDS57-RB), but still I was disappointed to see how quickly it broke. OK, I admit, I broke it, but it shouldn’t be so easy to break it. While reading the user manual for this appliance (you may think that I weird to read a coffee grinder manual, but I was just curious), I learned that it should be possible to adjust the length of the power cord by fitting excess cord into the base of the device. Unfortunately, when I picked up the grinder and flipped it upside down to see where the cord fits, the clear plastic cover immediately flew off, fell on the floor and cracked—even before I got to use the thing! How annoying! What’s worse, the instructions are misleading because there is no place to fit excess cord in the base of the device; those instructions might apply to other models, but the booklet doesn’t say so. In addition, the user manual does not contain any guidance for gridding coffee beans for a French press. Instructions for other types of coffee grounds are given, but not for a French press set, which is very popular recently.

The Mr. Coffee electric grinder has held up for years without any degradation in performance. I use mine almost daily. Recently I moved to a new place and needed a second one. Without hesitation I bought another one - the best endorsement is a repeat purchase of the exact same model!

This is a great coffee grinder. I received the white one as a gift more than 3 years ago and with daily use finally stopped working.
