Q: does this system include 2 way radio, monitor temp and humid, come with a travel case?

submitted by Barb - 8 months ago
  • A: Nanit has two way audio on the camera and a temperature & humidity sensor located in the stand. This does not include a travel case.

Q: Is there a particular age that you can no longer use the system for your baby?

submitted by Bri - 9 months ago
  • A: Breathing Wear will work as long as the Breathing Wear product fits your baby. The products are designed to fit children up to 24 months but if your child is older than 24 months and the garment still fits, it is fine to continue to use the Breathing Motion Monitoring feature.

Q: do I have to buy two different sets if I have twins or just an extra waist band?

submitted by Mal - 1 year ago
  • A: It is necessary to have two cameras connected to gather proper analytics and data for both babies.

Q: Does the baby have to be under the camera for the breathing band and smart sheet to track properly?

submitted by Demi - 2 years ago
  • A: The camera does need to have an overhead view of the crib in order to gather accurate data from the Smart sheets. However, breathing motion monitoring only requires that the baby is within view (as close as possible to ensure proper breathing tracking) with breathing wear on.

I do not usually write reviews, but feel that I need to write one to prevent other families from going through what we recently went through. Around midnight a few nights ago I thought that I heard a weird voice coming through on our Nanit. I listened carefully and heard my 2 1/2 year old daughter talking. I then heard a male voice say "hello" to her. SOMEONE HACKED OUR NANIT AND WAS TALKING TO MY DAUGHTER. This is so incredibly scary and unsafe. I have no idea how long they were watching her or how many other times they have tried to talk to her without me knowing. I unplugged it and reported it to Nanit days ago. I still have not heard from their customer support. I did some research and found that other people have had this same thing happen to them. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

This monitor does it all! I originally purchased a different top-rated monitor and returned it because it was lacking so many simple features that I felt like I needed in a monitor. One of my favorite features in the background noise option so you can still use other apps or even lock your phone and still hear sound from the monitor. I use the breathing band for extra peace of mind, and this camera is so good you can also see the slight breathing movements on the screen as well. It has so many other cool features too, including the smart sheets that measure baby with just the camera. You wont be dissappointed!

Very unreliable. After updates to camera or software we have noticed disconntions with the video feed and makes it unreliable. Even when they're not pushing updates, we have had the camera loose feed. There is no warning sound when it happens. We have to have 2 monitors just to make sure we don't miss him crying. We purchased a cheaper non wifi monitor that is the backup in case the Nanit stops working. Their customer service is horrible. It takes over 45 min on a good day for someone to answer the phone. Their tech support via email takes 3 weeks of back and forth to even get anywhere. We will be going on our 2nd camera replacement that they will be sending us. The 1st one has the charging pin break off into it, the 2nd one stopped connecting to their server after their software update. We will see about this next one. It is nice to be able to see the camera when outside of the home but you can not trust it will always be on when you are sleeping or not paying attention

At first the camera was great but 18months in, 6 months past it’s warranty the camera lost wifi connection due to an internal error in the unit. For what it is it’s too expensive for it to fail soon and a known issue reported by multiple Nanit users but warranty still doesn’t cover it.

Gives me peace of mind

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used many different types of baby monitors over the past 11 years that I have been a parent but this one is absolutely the best so far! With my oldest (almost 11) I remember my husband laughing at me because I purchased two different monitors- a video monitor and a monitor that went under the mattress to monitor the baby's breathing. It was excessive, but I wanted to see my baby and know he was safe. This Nanit monitor gives me everything I was looking for back then, plus more that I couldn't have even dreamed about. The quality on the video is phenomenal. It is crystal clear in the daytime, like I am standing right there. At night, it goes to night mode which is slightly less clear since it is black and white (as expected with night modes) but still lets me see every detail to ensure my son is safe. The breathing band is so easy to use and I love that I don't have to attach it to my baby or make sure he is wearing a special type of pajama with his feet easily accessible or anything. I also placed the smart sheet on the crib mattress and use it to track my son's growth. I love seeing how accurate it is! My son is only two weeks old currently so we have lots of check up appointments and the camera has been spot on with his length so far. The app is pretty easy to use as well. I think it's really nifty that you can do so much with the monitor through the app. You can turn the Nanit into a nightlight, play music, set timers for those options to turn off, talk to baby, see baby, and set the audio to on, off, or background (where you still hear everything even when you're not in the app). It's very handy! Since my youngest is two weeks old, we spend a lot of his time in the bassinet so the travel stand is amazing! It is super easy to move it from place to place. It's the most convenient feature. I love this camera so much I now have two! One for my two year old and the one I received from the Stellar Product Testing Panel for allowing me to receive this product in exchange for my honest feedback. This allows me to assign each camera to a kid so I can use the tracking and insights for each little one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to receive this monitor from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and an so thrilled. This monitor is amazing. I love that it connects to an app that is so easy to use and the image quality is so clear. At first I didn't think I would need the breathing band or smart sheet. In reality, they bring such amazing peace of mind that I didn't even know I was missing until I finally actually felt that relief. This amazing monitor set even gives you useful data on your baby like growth, that's super fun to be able to read. I feel so much safer putting my youngest to bed each night. Definitely recommend this monitor set to anyone with babies.

Great Smart Monitor For New Parents

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using the Nanit baby monitor for a little over a week and there are some really great things about it and some not so great things about it as well. First of all the camera is very sleek and modern looking, it does not take away from my babies nursery design and we found it easy to mount. The band for the baby was super easy to use and she did not seem to mind wearing it. It was very desirable to us that no “technology” touched our baby due to recent bans on other smart baby monitors. We really struggled to get are monitored connect to our home Internet. We had to call Nanit support multiple times and it was an inconvenience to us as busy parents. Once the Nanit system was finally up and working we loved how easy it was to check in on our baby and receive data about her sleep. If you love looking at stats about your baby, this product is pretty amazing. The system issues interesting technology to track sleeping habits and you can easily see how well or how poorly your child slept during the night. It definitely offered the reassurance that we needed to know that our little girl was safe in her crib in another room. It definitely eased my fears and anxiety as we transitioned away from having her in our room. I think an improvement that could be made is to include a base monitor for use, fortunately we had an old tablet that we were able to use. The HD picture quality is fantastic. I also enjoyed being able to check in on our baby sleeping while a sitter was watching her, monitoring on the go was nice. Another issue we had was that we immediately had to buy another band for our baby because the band that comes with the Nanit only works up to the 3 month mark. Including all of the bands you may need would be convenient and less of an expense after purchasing an already pricey camera system. Fortunately, we were able to trial this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and this was not an immediate concern for us. Thank you for allowing us to try out a new camera that was definitely a very useful and insightful device for new parents!

Wish We Had The Nanit Pro As First Time Parents

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nanit Pro Complete Baby Monitoring system was given to me through Stellar Panel product testing. All I can say is; I’ve become more and more impressed with this system daily. This product is a game changer. I wish it was around 4 years ago when we brought our first daughter home from the hospital. For first time parents this system is a no brainer. I vividly remember being so nervous the first time we put our daughter down at home for bed. If we had this monitor worries would have been mitigated and we wouldn’t have woken her up so many times checking in to make sure she was okay. The Nanit Pro was so easy to set up because of the detailed instructions and the prompts from the app. I had it up and running in less than 10 minutes. The picture on this monitor is incredible, no more blurry visuals in low light conditions. I also really like the sleep tracking and push notifications as it makes it easy to monitor the baby's rest which helps for setting up sleep routines or scheduling feedings with infants. You can tell Nanit has thought of everything. The wall mounting system is well engineered with a built in level and safety striping for cords which eliminates risk of hanging cords. Not only can you wall mount this system but you can easily remove the monitor component and place it on a stand which is great for when we travel. My wife and I have had our share of frustrations with different types of monitors and gadgets when it comes to raising our three children but we are both extremely impressed with this system. I honestly only have positive feedback for the Nanit Pro.

Great clear monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used other baby monitors that was very pixelated and hard to make out details, however, the Nanit Pro was very clear and crisp. The app was very easy to use and straight forward. Registration is required before using the product. I absolutely love the breathing band and smart sheet. My baby was very comfortable in it, and it definitely gave me peace of mind at night. The Insights data that Nanit provides gave very interesting information of how baby slept. My favorite feature of the Nanit is the built in night light. I used it very often when it was time to feed baby. The night light helped prevent baby from completely waking up. Highly recommend this product! I was given this to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Nanit Pro Complete Baby Monitor system from the Stellar Product Testing Panel! This is easily one of the best baby monitors I have ver used. The HD video is crystal clear and I love the positioning directly over the crib as opposed to from a wall mount. The app is very user friendly and has a ton of features that are a plus. I like the convenience of being able to check in on the baby when I am not home, however I do wish the system came with a physical monitor you could also use rather then just your phone.

Nanit Pro Baby Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this baby monitor as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. After some glitches syncing the monitor to my home wifi, I paired the camera and began using it. Aside from the pairing issues, the set up was a real breeze. The app is intuitive and user-friendly. I get a notification whenever there is sound in the nursery. If you use a sound machine, don't worry - the monitor is smart enough to recognize that and won't alert you. Unfortunately, I couldn't utilize the overhead set up because of the connectivity issues I was having so I had to place the monitor on a shelf nearby. However, the picture quality was great. One major plus about this particular camera is that there are no bright lights on the unit which would disturb your baby's sleep or keep your baby looking at the camera. I was never really interested in a video baby monitor because I thought they weren't worth the expense. After trying this one though I would highly recommend purchasing. There are so many options and so much information you can get from monitoring your baby's sleep. I think it's worth the investment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nanit Pro Complete Baby Monitoring System is something every parent should have! With our other children we’ve tried some of the other monitors on the market but they can’t even come close to all the extra features the Nanit system provides. The 1080p camera provides extra clear video of your little one. It’s nice having the option to hear and speak to your baby too. The Nanit app was super easy to install and use. I loved having a way to not only track the baby’s sleep but also their height/growth too. It helped prepare me for the monthly doctor appointments because I could look at my app and compare notes on her growth. I think that was truly my most favorite part of the Nanit system! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this. I truly recommend this for all parents.

Monitor with a lot of functionality

4 out of 5 stars
Andy - 2 years ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nanit Pro monitor is not my first baby monitor. Nor is it my second. There's a LOT of functionality included, some of which is exclusive to the Nanit. First, setup of both the app and the monitor itself was quite simple. The instructions for setting everything up were quite thorough, but honestly it was so intuitive that they weren't even really necessary. Extra credit there. Getting logged into the app and syncing with the camera was a total breeze. Once you've got the camera mounted (or on a stand), you can be fully configured in minutes. The app itself is pretty smooth. Overall it seems well-designed and is extremely thorough. You can measure your baby with the included blanket, set up notifications for when they wake up or make noise, and most importantly, configure sensitivity levels for those notifications and disable them entirely if need be. That's great! It's worth noting that I haven't had a single real app issue with the Nanit, which isn't something I can say about another premium product that I've used. Kudos to the Nanit team for that! Having to re-pair a device is never fun, and so far the Nanit is rock-solid. My main, and only real complaint with the device comes from Nanit Insights. Even the "Basic" Insights program costs money, but in my opinion, the features that it provides should be part of the basic functionality of the device. I understand that providing the infrastructure for the device isn't free, the device will be a lot less helpful once the trial subscription runs out in a year and it no longer provides video history over the past two days. This video history showing when your baby falls asleep, stirs, or wakes up in my opinion is the single greatest feature of the Nanit, and it's a shame that it's locked behind a paywall. I did receive this product for free as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It is a worthwhile purchase in my opinion for anybody looking for a smartphone-linked camera to watch your child while they sleep!

Not just a baby monitor

5 out of 5 stars
CBroussard - 2 years ago
originally posted on Nanit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you to Stellar Product Testing for sending the Nanit Pro Complete System for our real life family's honest feedback. Overall this monitoring system does it's job and more... but not so much more it is overwhelming. The complete system comes packed with the essentials to be able to utilize all of the features which will put families minds at ease when welcoming their newest little one into their own sleeping space. Not only is the monitoring system easy to install, set up and utilize, but the HD picture quality is AMAZING. Pros- 1. Easy to install both the systems its self and the app. I put the app on both my phone and tablet products. After having to follow terrible and drawn out instructions for putting together all the baby furniture, it was nice to have a simple step by step instruction manual to follow. The app was so simple and can be used right away. I really appreciate Nanit adds in the wire covers with the complete system. To not have to track down an after market cord cover helps when you eventually transition LO to a toddler bed and they have access to the ENTIRE room. 2. Features are awesome! There are many other products on the market which can measure your child's breathing at night, however (in my opinion) they are a bit overkill. To not only be able to see my baby breathing because the HD monitor is so clear, but to also have the ability to add the belly band would have saved the need to check in on my daughter when we first put her sleeping in her own room. I also LOVE the fact you can keep track of LO height with the use of the sheets. They are a cute pattern and can let me know how she is growing... win-win. 3. Nanit seemed to have thought of everything when it comes to the accessories. I really appreciate Nanit creating many different sleep products to be able to use the breathing feature of the system. You can literally find a product which will fit your needs however you babe sleeps best. And if you already have your tried and true sleep product, you can just add the belly band and call it a day. The stand which comes with the complete set is great for moving the monitor from room to room. It is nice to be able to use one camera and app for both sleep and awake times. I move the camera to my playroom so I can watch both my toddler and baby while I am cooking dinner in the kitchen. There are other accessories as well which can be purchased which may fit your families needs best. Cons- 1. Does eat up battery life on the device you have the app installed when in use. Be sure there is plenty of charge for nap times, and needs to be plugged in at night. When nap time is over I turned off the camera on the app and still needed to charge my tablet mid day because I like to have the screen up (in night mode) during the day. At night you can set the sound to background noise and turn your phone or tablet off and it will conserve battery life, but it is one thing to note if you like to see your child while they are napping. 2. While the initial camera placement for a baby is awesome and I understand why it needs to be over the crib, it is not a great set up for when transitioning to toddlerhood. I know you can un mount and put more holes in the wall, or use the stand, but when your toddler gets the freedom of their own bed having something mounted to the wall and can see the entire room is very helpful for safety purposes. Putting the monitor on the stand which comes with the kit would be a solution but the fewer loose and easy to grab things in the room for a toddler the better (we are literally going through it right now with my oldest... its a struggle) Neutral Comment: This system does utilize wi-fi and for our family we like these types of systems. It is a benefit to be able to check in on the kids when we are not with them (and they are with Nana or Gramama). It is also nice I can be out in the backyard or driveway with my toddler while my baby is napping and not have to worry about the range of the system. Nanit does a great job of walking caregivers through additional security measures to ensure the system is as secure as it can be, and I really appreciate this added step. Last thoughts: The complete set is worth getting with the monitoring system. It comes with everything you need to be able to use the basic features without needing to add on additional accessories. It is a little more money in the beginning, but you will want to use the features and have to add on additional accessories later- better to do it up front. You can also upgrade the tracking information to keep track of sleep habits and additional insights. This information is not super helpful for us... but my girl has been a great sleeper from the beginning. If we were having sleep challenges, to be able to go back through her night time sleep habits with a professional would be invaluable information to have... and you can have it with this system. We will be continuing to use this product for my baby and transitioning away from our original monitoring system.

Useful advanced features for tech savvy parents

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given the Nanit Pro Complete Baby Monitoring System to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Setting it up was a little tricky at first because there was just so much stuff it came with. The whole bundle is amazing because it comes with new technology that I definitely would appreciate more if I had a younger baby. All the features are still super useful for my child who is 13 months old now. The breathing band and the smart sheet are incredible features but my baby was already too big for the 0-3 month old breathing band it came with. We did try it one time but it barely fit him. However, it did the job of tracking his breathing and thankfully we didn’t have to experience the loud alarming sound to notify us that he had stopped breathing. The HD baby monitor camera is well-designed and such a useful tool. Some features I liked most are the built-in night light, sound machine, and two way microphone system. One thing I’ll point out is that the night vision isn’t as clear as I would like. My baby usually likes to sleep in a darker space and the HD quality isn’t as high as I expected. There are moments where I can’t tell if he is breathing or not even while trying to zoom in on the camera, which is why I think the breathing band would be useful but unfortunately the size we received didn’t fit our baby. The smart sheet is a great concept but unfortunately we were not able to have the correct placement of the camera. We are currently renting our place and we are not allowed to drill holes into the wall. So the best we could do for now is to place the camera at the edge of the bed where there are existing screws. I am hoping we can find a way to set it up the way it is intended to be placed. We did use the multi-stand which we used with our tripod and it worked great capturing our little one napping and playing in their playard. We are traveling abroad soon, so the multi-stand will be something I look forward to bringing with us. I found the Nanit App to be incredibly easy to navigate and I love how I am able to control the nightlight and sound machine on the app. There are so many features in the app that I do appreciate, especially the humidity and temperature reader. I actually bought a temperature/humidity reader for our rooms last year so having this built in the app is so convenient. The insights data has been fun to track and hilarious to see how often my husband and I walk up to the crib in the middle of the night. I think it’s encouraging and freeing as well to see that my son is able to sleep through the night and I don’t have to track his sleep on a separate app to see how his sleep pattern is. One thing I would change on the app is accessing the sounds for the sound machine. It would be better to have the music icon on the ’Live’ section on the app instead of having to expand the camera view. I didn’t discover the sound machine option until a few days ago since it was tricky to find. Overall, this baby monitoring system is quite advanced in its features and I am impressed with what I’ve experienced with the Nanit so far in the past few weeks.

An all in one baby camera system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son just turned 1 year old last month and still sleeps in a crib in my bedroom. Despite the closeness, I love having a baby camera that can capture his sleep cycles throughout the night. Insert the Nanit Pro Complete Baby Monitoring System. This amazing system covers all of the bases you may need in a baby camera. It has an HD monitor, which allows for a clear view of your infant. The Nanit app is user friendly, while offering tutorials and tips to guide you throughout the app. My son was too large for the size of the breathing band provided but it’s nice to know they sell a large size if needed. The smart sheet, on the other hand, is the best. The fabric is a little more rough that what we’re used to but still soft on the skin. The koala design is cute and this design is necessary in giving accurate measurements of your child’s length. In regards to the measurement aspect in the app, you simply lay your child on their back and click the measure button. You can then adjust the points located on your child to give the best length. This worked even with my child on his side and belly. This worked better for us because he never sleeps on his back by his own choice! My hands down favorite feature is the multi-stand. The multi-stand allows you to disconnect the camera from the wall mount and move it to any place you like. It’s like having two cameras in one! My only two negatives are the lack of an on/off button on the camera and the need for a paid subscription for the extra app features. I had the most difficult time setting the camera up when I received it because I couldn’t tell if the camera was on or off. Also, the first year of the app is free but the price is high once that year passes. Unfortunately, you can no longer monitor breathing or track baby’s sleep unless you pay for the subscription. Overall, the benefits of the Nanit Pro Complete Baby Monitoring System outweighed the two negatives I had. I love the multi-stand and HD quality of this baby camera. For as long as you expect to have your little one in their crib/toddler bed, I can’t imagine having a better camera setup that the Nanit Pro System. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this system!

Fanciest Baby Monitor with Fun Smart Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nanit Pro is probably the fanciest baby monitor option you can find in the market. I wanted a baby monitor that provides night vision in HD quality to monitor my baby while she's sleeping and the Nanit Pro provides exactly that with its 1080p HD camera. During the day, it's like watching an HD movie - the video quality is great. The night vision is not as clear as during the day, but it still provides a clear vision of my baby's crib. There might be other cheaper options in the market but the Nanit Pro is really unique in its app function. The Nanit app provides the "Insights" data which could provide useful data for parents especially with newborns. Thankfully my baby sleeps pretty reliably and regularly so the detailed Insight data are not necessarily "needed" for us. The additional information that the app provides (such as the heat map or the frequency of overnight tossing) is just an extra bonus -- it is fun to watch, but I think it can drive some parents crazy at the same time with too much information. You have to pay for the Insights data after one year and I am not sure if I would pay for it. Given the price of this baby monitor, I wish they provided the app for free for as long as the owner keeps the camera, not just for one year. The complete set comes with two cool accessories -- the Breathing Band and the Smart Sheet. The breathing band would also be great for parents with newborns. My baby was 11 months old by the time we received this baby monitor, and she was already too big to try out the band. While the smart sheet is also a cool idea, I can't say it's entirely accurate. We tried it and there was almost an inch of a difference. Granted, babies move around so much that it's impossible to measure them 100% accurate however you measure them. It's more for fun than to get accurate measures. Overall, this is a great baby monitor if you are looking for the most state-of-the-art baby monitor. The feature I would use the most of is its high-quality night vision, two-way audio, and the tracking app. When we have our next baby (hopefully soon), I cannot wait to try the Breathing Band and Smart Sheet for our newborn. [I was given the Nanit Pro Complete Baby Monitoring System to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.]

Nanit baby monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Nanit pro complete baby monitor system thanks to Stellar Product testing panel. We haven’t had it long so I can’t stay how it is long term but so far it’s been pretty good to us with some cons. I’ll list the biggest pros and cons, but be prepared for a long review! Pros: 1. The monitor HD is pretty great compared to other high end baby monitors. The quality is good but I think a lot of it has to do with your internet connection. When we’d have bad connection, our quality wasn’t great, but still do able. 2. I truly enjoy that the monitor viewing screen is on your phone. It’s a simple step by step app that anyone could use with multiple users. My husband and I could both use/view the app at the same time with notifications being sent to both of us. My husband works long hours and this has been a special way for him to still enjoy being a part of the day. He could open his app and see our son taking a nap or in the play yard. 3. The system came with a wall mount, a multi stand, and the camera that attaches. I have set the multi stand in the living room to view our giant play pen and the wall mount is above the crib. Since I work at home, it is super easy to detach the camera from the wall mount and connect it to the multi stand into the living room and view on my phone. It also have a very wide view, you can basically see the whole living room. 4. The smart sheet is nice and pretty accurate! My son had his 1 year check up and he was measured at the doctors as 28.75 inches. That night we went home and he was sleeping on his belly, and on the smart sheets he measured 28.5 inches. (May have been more accurate if he was sleeping on his back per the instructions.) 5. Being able to look on the app and view his sleep pattern throughout the night was convenient. You can see when he gets up, even if he doesn’t fuss. 6. Setting up the camera and cords was super easy and EVERYTHING you basically needed came with it. The cords were easy to hide and put my mind at ease knowing my little one can’t pull it down or wrap the cords around him. Cons: 1. Wish they have more patterns for the smart sheet, it’s pretty girly to me even though I only got the black. 2. The pro complete pack only comes with a size small breathing band 0-3 months which was bummer. I was excited to try it out, then to find out it’s to small and you’d have purchased other sizes. 3. The notifications for movement is very sensitive, even after turning the sensitivity way down. It catches when our door hanger moves through the window in our living room, or a shadow from the fan in our room. Overall this is a great system and I’m excited to use it for many years to come through out more babies and their life span! I would highly recommend this monitor system to any parent!
