We do not have a seal on the inside (where the product actually comes out), however, there is a tamper seal on the outside (connecting cap to bottle). I have typically used a Thrive cream shadow stick, but thought I would give this a try because I’ve had luck with replacing other Thrive products with Nyx (like the brow pencil) and the prices are so much more affordable. While I the product, like others was so confused about why it wouldn’t twist up to advance the stick. It seems bizarre to expect consumers to realize they will need to sharpen a plastic stick. And of course I cannot find a sharpener that will actually work on it, so I won’t be buying this again. The Nyx brow pencil twists up just like the Thrive product, so why can’t this one? Improve your design, Nyx!!

We recommend a cosmetic sharpener, like our makeup pencil sharpener, like our dual sharpener It fine-tunes both jumbo and regular size eyeliner and lip liner pencils. For best results, turn the pencil gently in the sharpener 3 or 4 times, being careful not to apply excess pressure. I like a soft chunky pencil, and was excited with the perfect eggplant color! Unfortunately, I assumed- because the pencil is clearly plastic, and the packaging is not clear at all that to GET AT the whole thing you HAVE TO SHARPEN OFF THE >PLASTIC< (whose not brilliant idea was that?)- that it would twist up. Like every other reviewer who mentions this feature, I find this design to be absolutely trash. Firstly because no one would expect this and the packaging does not clarify it, and secondly because even if you DO already own a sharpener that can manage it, you can never get the last bit out. While another reviewer gave a solution for extracting and potting the color, which is super resourceful, I actually wanted a soft-color pencil. With all the negative feedback and poor communication in the packaging, I really feel NYX should be sending people a refund or coupon for purchase price toward another product until they redesign this clear dud. On the upside, the product consistency is very versatile and the colors are great. Would welcome a "We want to make this right" action from the company! In the meantime will likely keep looking for this perfect color in another brand of twist-up pencil.

Great pigment, blends out well, definitely a softer crayon texture. A lot of reviews seem confused about it but YOU NEED TO SHARPEN THE PENCIL WITH A PENCIL SHARPENER!!!! It DOES NOT twist and yes it's plastic but you sharpen it !

I like that it works well as eyeliner (when its new and pointy) and as eye shadow and it lasts, but I don't like that you cannot sharpen it and that a lot of it is wasted. It's inexpensive though so I think its worth it.

I have two jumbo crayon pencils and do love them but they do not roll up as other brands and I have in essence, paid for a “tip” for iced latte and French fries. It’s just not worth it. Not sure if I bought broken products or if this is what you‘re selling. I will not but again.

Used once or twice. Nice color. Then the pencil became less pointy & shorter. Tried pliers to twist the bottom and Broke it! Then i got a chopstick and pushed it up from the bottom! It worked but the chopstick pushed through the stick. Here to try to figure out how to advance the pencil: can’t be done ( must buy sharper).. As other reviewers have mentioned - a waste. Tomorrow i will try melting in the microwave. A really dump product. Won’t buy again.

Love the product but why are the questions about accessing the remaining product not being answered. There is about an inch of stick not being available as the stick does not turn. WHY, it does not make sense. I cut into the stick and was surprised at how much crayon was left. This product is not user friendly.

I put this in my inner corner than put highlighter over and it stays all day and looks good. I also put it on my waterline. Eyes naturally water so that’s when this will come off but pretty good.
