A: You can stand on the top platform step, but not on the black top cap.

Q: Is the measurement of 5’5” from the top step? Or the very top of ladder?

A: The 5'5" measurement is to the very top of the ladder. The top step is 4' from the ground, providing a reach height of 10'.

Great light weight ladder. Been looking for one for a long time. Both of our 8' wooden ladder and 8' steel ladder were too heavy and bulky/long for me to use. This aluminum ladder is light weight and tall enough for most household use. It is perfect for people with a petite stature like me (5') to pick up and maneuver around obstacles around the house without having to worry about knocking things down or scraping walls or not clearing door jambs. This ladder is made of sturdy aluminum. Neatly collapsed to take small storage space. Will get a 2nd one as a gift.

I bought this ladder to replace a heavier one which I could no longer move safely. It is lightweight, but sturdy. The grip railing on the top makes me feel more secure when I'm using it. It folds flat enough that I plan to hang it on the back of the basement door where I can easily access it. The height is enough so that I can reach about 8 feet from the floor.
