A lot of details to take in at first, so the 'quick start' cards were a good introduction. By the second game, we had the hang of it and only needed to consult rules for clarification a couple times. I feel this game would be enjoyed by any that have the patience for 2-3 hours of board game play. We liked that it was competitive and not adversarial - you are pursuing your goal and not interfering with others. There is a perfect balance between randomness and strategy so that you are never "one bad roll" away from winning or losing. As you progress through the game, you play toward multiple different goals so there is never the sense that one player can take an early lead and nobody else has a chance to catch up. All in all the game is incredibly well designed and each of the elements that add complexity serve a concrete function that makes the game enjoyable - i.e., it's not complex just for complexity's sake.

I got this is a gift and I truly am in love. It is STUNNING visually. From the board, quality, and cards it’s all beautifully designed. The game feels confusing starting out, but it really starts taking form as you continue on. My friends love it so much that 2 of them now have the online version so they can play it when they aren’t with me. I already snagged an expansion pack!

It took a little while to read through the instructions and get a feel for the gameplay. Once you take that time though, it becomes a very fast paced and fun game! We really enjoyed building our bird sanctuaries. The beginner instruction cards were soooo helpful to playing our first game. I can't wait to play again!

My Bro-in-law introduced us to the game online (so we could play it together with family all over the country), then he sent us the hard copy so we could add on the Oceania expansion. My hubby and I are obsessed with this game because it doesn’t seem too competitive but yet is fun to try countless strategies without feeling repetitive. We loved it so much, we bought a copy to give to another family member :) 10/10 game and I used to love Ticket to Ride and Pandemic

Beautiful artwork with interesting descriptions for each bird. My partner and I went through the quick start guide the instructions recommended. The rules were easy to learn along the way. This is our current favorite board game! If you enjoy decking building games with resource management then you will enjoy this game.

This game is bad. Initial set up takes 45 minutes. Learning to play takes almost as long. Written directions are difficult to understand. Watched recommended videos. A lot of time into learning and it turns out this game is just not all that enjoyable. We have Catan, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, Dominion, etc. Pick any of those over this game. It's beautiful but not worth it.

Very fun and chill game to play. I enjoyed it a lot more with two players compared to four, and it was a lot faster too. I have not tried the single player (automa) but it looks very interesting and I like that I have the option to play solo if my hubby is not in the mood. The art is beautiful and it is a very well designed game, lots of different strategies you could take to win. It’s not a very competitive game, as apposed to other games we have. This game showed up on a lot of “top board game” lists of 2022 and I’ll say I get why, I would definitely recommend to a novice or experienced gamer.
