Before use, pre-season with your choice of USP-grade mineral oil, coconut oil, walnut oil, almond oil, or beeswax, repeating treatment once every week to two weeks. To clean and sanitize your board regularly, use hot water and soap, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, or diluted chlorine bleach, but avoid harsh detergents of any kind. Finally, TeakHaus recommends using coarse salt, baking soda, lemon, or vinegar to eliminate garlic, fish, onion, and any other pesky smells.
