I love this bookshelf - It took me about an hour & 1/2 to put together by myself. Easy to read instructions and the materials are even sorted for you. It looks fantastic in my dining room/office area. Great buy for the price.

I purchased this item in the store hoping I wouldn't have to deal with major damage from shipping, but most of the pieces were missing finish anyway. I called the Target Home number and they promised they would replace the few pieces I had asked for, and more than a week later called me and told me they didn't have any of the pieces and they weren't on back order and could never get them to me, so I would have to try and exchange it in the store. I bought this because I have the matching dresse r and night stand but I am not happy with the quality of this product, and the inconvenience it has become.

These bookcases are fantastic. I bought three of them for my personal library. They took a little while to put together, but they are sturdy and beautiful - people often ask me if they're Crate & Barrel! I saw some reviews that said they're very easily chippable - no way! I've already moved from one household to another with these and there's no wear at all. Great buy and great value.

I'm surprised at how much I love this bookcase. The color is really beautiful and rich. It was a bit difficult to put together though, I must say. I still cannot figure out the back piece! But it does look very nice and seems to be good quality.

I've had these bookcases for years, and they have endured several moves. Through it all, they have maintained their look and are very sturdy. I loved them in the store, and I still love them today.

I searched everywhere...literally, for bookshelves that were nice looking but not over the top expensive. I found these bookcases and was able to see a display at the local Target and I really liked how nice they looked. We bought 3 during the AWESOME bogo sale Target just had on furniture and I could not be happier! For the price it's far superior to anything thing else I have seen! HIGHLY Recommend! [...]

After searching online for a reasonable and contemporary bookshelf for my home office I found this on the Target website and drove to my local Target store. I was excited to find it in stock and bought 2 for my growing library. I thought, I scored a deal. I do not consider myself a master carpenter but I have purchased build yourself furniture from [brand], [brand] and [brand] and had no problem following the visual instructions. It is unfortunate that this bookshelf however was a disaster. Thi s bookshelf looks really superb however just like what the other reviewers have said, this shelf chips easily. I really wanted to love this shelf and was going to look past quality but the instructions were POORLY POORLY documented, beware! Each part was labeled alphabetically but no top, bottom, left and right prompts were available. I so want to return it but I spent 5 hours constructing it that it would be ridiculous to do so. Very disappointed!!!!!

My fiance and I are starting purchase home furniture for our apartment and we were in desperate need of a set of large bookshelves. We purchased just one to see how it looked and we're already planning on buying a second to make a pair. It is a beautiful looking shelf-- we bought the Espresso color-- and it will hold our collection of books and games perfectly. For the price we could have gotten something that was made out of a cheaper material from other stores. This is still a composite mater ial but it's heavy duty and definitely can take a little wear and tear. The only thing I noticed while construction was the finish on the shelves easily chips off when you are screwing in some hardware. So treat it gently but it can take a beating from books and other things you place on it.

I purchased these a week ago and I couldn't be happier. As much as I hate assembling furniture, this process wasn't too complex for an everyday woman. I purchased the desk to go along with it. In total my office cost approximately [$]. I must say it is quite the bargain!
