SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Moisturizing Hair Mask

I’m writing this review to stress how disappointed I am w/ the new formula for Raw Shea Butter Deep Moisturizing Hair Masque. I ask you to please bring back the old formula. The new formula is watery and just not as good. I’m talking about the product w/ the new label. It doesn’t smell, feel or work the same. I’m very disappointed and now forced to seek out another DC to replace it. Being the new formula SUCKS!!!

I’ve always loved this conditioner but my recent purchase is different from the others. It’s a different consistency, and unfortunately not as thick or moisturizing as it used to be. Bring back the old formula!

Doesn't do anything for my hair! The worst product I ever bought.

It feels heavy on my hair and I have curly type 4 too. I used it as a deep leave in mask after washing my hair and it was hard to detangle my hair and felt like it was drying it out instead of becoming smooth and conditioning. I don’t know if they changed the formula back as other reviewers said it changed and they noticed a difference but I won’t be buying this again. This isn’t a sponsored or promoted or influencer free gimmick like other paid reviews which is super annoying at this point because I bought this myself.

Love SheaMoisture and use some of their products lifelong - but this isn’t good for fine, long, tangly prone hair. Truly made my hair so heavy and tangly, so much time added post shower. So glad I used it all finally and will not ever repurchase. Seems thick and nice for someone with a different hair type!

I generally use a hair mask/cholesterol on a regular basis. I thought I would try a new product, so I purchased the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Hair Mask. I am not in love with this product. Strengths: 1 Price is fair (about $13.00) as you do not need to use much with each application. 2 Has a nice creamy texture. 3 Does soften hair. (I do not have curly or kinky hair.) Drawbacks: 1 While it did soften my hair, it actually made it very limp by the end of the day. (Much more so than other masks I have used.) BTW, I wash my hair everyday. 2 I have noted since using it for a short while, my bathtub feels greasy and slippery. Not what I want! Makes it more likely that one might slip. 3 While I am not a chemist, it seems to have a lot of non-natural ingredients. Overall: This product does not work well for me, as I do have fairly fine hair. My largest concern was the how it made my hair so limp. However, it might work more effectively for someone with thicker and more luxurious hair.

This is my favorite hair mask ever, I will always have this in my bathroom. I have severely damaged hair that I am growing out and this is the only mask at this price point that makes my hair feel SO conditioned.

Please for the love of god bring the old formula back! This new one is awful

I bought this mask for my daughter since her hair has been feeling dry lately so we gave it a try today & her hair definitely feels softer than how it was before

this hair thing made my hair fluffy and wavy to straight and flat now my hair had been like this for 4 days now i’ve washed it out and it’s still flat do not recommend this product at all.

Terrible. Smells disgusting and does not work. It made my hair all frizzy and yucky.

Experienced alot of breakage due to dryness during the winter months. This mask is AMAZING! So thick and hydrating. I use the shampoo as well.

This product didn't work for my hair it changes my hair from the natural state that it was in from I use this product nothing work for my hair my hair gel don't work for my hair any more now I don't know what to do to get back my hair to how it was now its so fuzzy

Okay first of all, I bought the “one time use” packet. It had so much product, and even for me with thick natural hair, I’ve used it about 3 times, and still have a lot more! About the effectiveness—what I received from the mask was great! I don’t have colored hair, so I’m not sure if it makes a difference or not, but the mask left my hair smooth and extremely soft. It worked great and left my hair detangled, after about 5 minutes of keeping it in and rinsing. (I washed my hair beforehand). Anyways, it was a great product and I’m excited to buy again!

Used to use the deep treatment all the time. This time some got on my forehead and now it’s red, itchy, and burning and same as my ears. Don’t know what changed about this product as i’ve never had issues before but this is horrible.

I have been using this hair mask for about 10+ years as in I sleep with it once a week along with a bunch of essential and natural hair oils. I have naturally curly 3A hair. Most masks have a boatload of chemicals. That shea butter mask was the real deal as in the shea butter was so thick and the ingredients were real. I have been using the new formula and it's nowhere as hydrating or works as good as the original one. The original formula would have been a solid 5 star review. Yes it was greasier and thicker to apply, but it drenched my hair in moisture. This new formula is nowhere near as good and so I'm giving it 3 stars. I wish they would bring the original formula back. I'm not sure why companies keep asking for more money while giving you a lot less quality for it. It's very frustrating because there is literally no other hair mask I tried even the really high end ones that works as good as the original shea butter mask. I wish they would have left it alone. Please bring it back. I love the Shea Moisture brand overall and I think they are much more authentic than much more expensive brands I buy elsewhere. I just wish they would not have messed with my Shea butter mask product. Just don't touch it. The original was PERFECT!

I love this deep conditioner, I will always purchase this product from now on!
