I'm a fan of S.O.G. products and they've never let me down where quality is concerned, but if you're looking to purchase this item, please know it's considerably smaller than a "hatchet". If you don't need a large heavy woodsman's axe to get the job done, this will do fine, but for me this was smaller than I had expected. see less

The SOG seal pup fixed blade knife is a rugged durable knife. Perfect for any situation you put it through. The AUS6 steel is a beautiful mastered steel on this knife. The zytel reinforced handle feels beautiful in dry or wet conditions, I have dived with this knife and unlike other knifes I have had felt perfect and I hand not felt and looseness I had felt a good grip throughout the experience. The steel dose not rust quickly in water a upside and its very strong, although it is a softer steel it doesn't feel like it would disappoint in a survival situation. The serrations are great although I would have liked to of seen a straight blade version. Because it is sometimes hard to sharpen. The dimensions on the blade are great and look magnificent. The nylon sheath with M.O.L.L.E. webbing capabilities was great. It has not been cut by the blade when sheathed which has happened to me before. Overall this is a great knife, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good durable knife. see less

SOG is an American company and makes some of the finest personal carry knives on the market. These knives are not cheap CHICOM imports or knock-offs flogged by most box-Mart chains - kudos to Target for offering these lines of knives! You will NOT be disappointed with this knife and it will do you right in its lifetime and in another lifetime as you pass it on to your heirs as "Made in America For Americans!" see less

I've always loved SOG products, and the Flash II is one of their best, if not the best, assisted-opening pocket knives. However, while the durability of the blade is good as far as pocket knives go, it's very hard to sharpen the blade after extended use because of the serration. Personally, I think serration on a pocket knife is completely unnecessary, the only reason I bought this model is because Target did not offer a straight edge at the time. In short, I'd definitely recommend the Flash II, but try and find a non-serrated model. see less

This is my first SOG knife and I am quite impressed. This knife features the arc-lock system which is lightning-quick, one-handed opening and closing capability. The blade is exteramly sharp. I have been carrying this for a week now and I have no complaints. Its the perfect size and weight for EDC. see less

This machete is the worst piece of garbage imaginable. Inferior steel and workmanship. The blade chips and the edge rolls over after five minutes of light use. No edge holding ability and the machete will crack and actually break under light use. This tool is a horror and actually a danger to use. [...] see less

Due to my job I go through knives frequently, so I had been buying cheap knives. I finally decided to purchase a little better quality knife and you really do get what you pay for. My knife even got ran over, while open, by a 6,000lb fork lift and still works fine. I would definitely recommend this knife if you are looking for a geed quality, slim knife. see less

ok im the type person whos leary of buying anything i cant hold or touch first,but im happy in this case i took the risk.this knife is very easy to open has a razors edge on it out of the box.its legal size opened has a great locking system and comeswith a good warranty.if u r a collector or just someone lookin for a good pocket knife get this 1,and on top of that its a true military knife.be smart get yours asap. see less

I have NO IDEA what the 3rd reviewer was talking about. He clearly know absolutely nothing about e very day carry (EDC) knives. (Or any other types of knives) This knife is famous for it's materials, build quality and durability. Don't take my word for it. Check out Youtube's NUTNFANCY's SOG Flash 1 video review. Contrary to the first person's review this knife is awesome. I have been involved in scouting my entire life and have owned many knives. This is one of the finest. I have also worked in the field of construction and a knife that is durable is one that you will keep forever. The handle is very light and made of zytel material, which is a very strong and durable material. This knife has been run over and was once left outside over night and functioned perfectly afterwards.This knife is one of the sharpest out of the box and as far as the construction SOG knives are some of the finest out there. Many are used by military and police. The blade release is in no way dangerous. It is in the best place for it and in compared to any locking blades is in a similar place. I have never cut myself due to its design.This knife is a great buy and at the price, you would be nuts to buy anything else. If your going camping or working on the construction site, this knife is a must. You will never want to leave home without it! see less

The Flash is a great light duty EDC blade. It's extremely light due to the Zytel handle and is not delicate at all. The previous reviewer's conjecture aside, this knife can handle being thrown under a car. The assisted opening is very helpful for one-handed opening and the recessed clip is excellent for discrete carry. It even has a locking switch for safety-minded users.For [..] this is an excellent blade for random everyday tasks around the house or office. see less
