This is the first Gateway I've owned. The specs on the machine for the price were excellent - 6 GB mem, powerful processor, wide, hi-res screen, and big hard drive. So far I've had no issues with it, other than the obnoxious new "features" of Windows 8 for which I've had to find various workarounds in order to have a Vista/Win7-style desktop. No big deal. Just google on the problem and avoid the Microsoft answers. There's even a nice free utility that brings back the missing Start button. Bottom line - it's only been 6 weeks, but to this point I'm very pleased. see less

Great value - great little laptop! Lots of memory, fast processor...I did have a bit of a learning curve to deal with Windows 8...but getting there! see less

The laptop arrived in a timely fashion and it seemed like a decent price for the features...two issues...one...it has windows 8 and that was my mistake to not check closer...two...no documentation came with the unti and 5 days after Christmas gifting it...it will no longer boot up...my advice...pick a different computer... see less
