Q: How many inches from the floor to the bottom of the bed? My existing pop-up trundle may be higher than the trundle that comes with the bed so I need to know in inches how much clearance there is from the floor to the bottom of the bed.

Q: How many inches from the floor to the bottom of mattress and can I use an 11" memory foam mattress on top

submitted by Zoey - 7 years ago
  • A: From the floor to the bottom of the bottom mattress is 4 inches. Yes the 11" mattress will work on the top bed, it will be above the shorter posts on the head and foot board but still under the top rail by a few inches. Love this bed, we bought it for our two grand daughters which are 3 and 4. It is well built and sturdy.....

submitted bySally - 7 years ago
  • A: I am thinking the 11" memory foam will not give a lot of margin on the top, I'd go with a 9" tbh. I've stacked 2 twins on top at one point, and my daughter still had room. But an 11'' MIGHT be just 2 inches too much.

Q: What size is the box this comes in?

submitted by Curious - 8 years ago
  • A: If I remember correctly. The box wasn't much bigger than the size of a single mattress. Thickness of the box was about 12 inches Assembly was not difficult. Very happy with the bed

    submitted byJacquie R - 8 years ago
  • A: The length and width of the bed. It is very heavy.

Q: How does the trundle bed elevate?

submitted by Kz2ro - 8 years ago
  • A: If I'm understanding your question correctly, the bed and/or trundle does not elevate.  It rolls in and out from under the frame.

submitted byKimmer - 8 years ago
  • A: It is on wheels.

Teenage Boy Mom Review - 11 months ago, Verified purchaser
I will start by saying tha this is a decent bed. Easy enough to put together that my 13 year old put it together himself. I double checked his work and it was solidly put together. I can not account for the clearity of the instructions as he literally did it all himself with no help from me. I will say if you have older kids or highly active kids maybe rethink this option. Weigh limit I believe is 400lb on bed and 250 on trundle. This sounds adequate right? Wrong. I have a teenager who is barely 100lbs. But him and his friends are typical boys and are usually messing around. Things tend to get a little rough, I definitely do not buy anything delicate or fragile for his space. We have had this bed for a couple months and after a sleepover with 2 frineds the frame bent/broke on the front. There is no extra support there in order for the trundle to slide in/out which is totally understandable, but it does leave that area suseptable to damage. If my teenager/friends were maybe more the quiet, relaxed types this would be a great bed! Easy to put together, looks good and I love the added sleep space the trundle added. But for my needs I guess I am going to have to look for a more strudy option. If you have younger or more laid back teenagers, this bed is fantastic!!!

The bed is very cute. True full on top and twin on bottom. Tedious to assemble but not overly challenging by any means. One star off because it is quite squeaky. I can hear when my 11 yo (100 lbs) is shifting in her bed. I’m curious to know the longevity of the bed. Quality is moderate however excellent for the price paid.

I don't know what people are complaining about this bed and putting it together. The directions were very easy to follow, all parts are lettered, there's picture illustrations. Yes, I would say it takes 2 people to put it together, only to hold some pieces while screwing them together. And it's a twin bed. There's a full size bed that l looks the same and costs the same and the name of the bed is similar. I definitely recommend this bed

This bed is very sturdy. I put it together fairly easy, I'm Grandma! But did make the mistake of doing it in front of the TV, thinking I could just slide it into the bedroom. Had to take off one side, and put it back on. The frame does not jiggle with the 3r year old jumping on it. She also crawls of the end to get it. The trundle is great! Nothing but praise from me!

Directions were clear for assembly, though you must give yourself some time to follow the steps in order. I knew to tighten the bolts AFTER all the slats are inserted from reading someone else's review. This really works well for efficient hospitality in small spaces. Construction appears strong. Appearance consistent with photos on the website.

We ordered this Daybed with trundle for our kids. It was easy to put together. We had this item a little over a month and the wheels are falling off from the trundle. The kids have carpet in their room and I think the wheels doesn't do good on carpet.

The best thing about this daybed is that it was delivered as promised by Target. It sat in my living room for about a week and today I decided I was going to put it together. First lets start with the instructions. I know that many put it together products come with pictorial instructions that have minimal words that accompany them. This one needed some words to instruct buyers that during the first step they should not tighten the screws because that would hinder them when it came time to put in the slats. In my attempt to put in the first slat I scratch up the finish of my bed. These are noticeable scratches. Next when trying to attach the front part of the frame, the holes where the screws are supposed to go had a metal piece sticking up that kept the screws from being able to fit into to the hole. I had to get my flat head screwdriver and a hammer to try and shave it down in order to get the screws in. I also believe that the order in which the instructions are written makes very little sense. So back to the slats. I then decided that I needed to loosen some screws and maybe that would help me get the slats in. When I tried to loosen the screws that were in the holes that had the metal pieces sticking up the screws would not budge. At this point I called customer service. I wanted to return the bed but the box was such a pain to open that I ripped it to pieces and I could not take it apart even it I had not. So I called customer service and they wanted me to 1. take a picture of the damage; 2. screen shot my order conformation from Target; and 3. take a picture of my instruction book cover before they would send me compensation for the damages caused buy their poor instruction. They wanted to send me a replacement part and could not understand when I tried to explain that I would not be able to replace any parts because I can't get the screws out because of their poor design. They also said they would send me touch up paint but how do you touch a metal day bed without it looking worst than it does with the scratches. I will not recommend buying anything else from this company because, as the representative told me over the phone, they are located in Canada they are limited with what they can do to help . Nothing against Canada. Not worth the money I paid or my time and effort.

Finally found a trundle bed that I could use for when our daughter's come home. I wanted something stylish and not bulkly - this is it! We had a bit of a bump in the road and having not purchased big furniture like this online before, I became nervous. Thankfully the enclosed instructions gave the manufaccturer phone number. They were very understanding and cooperative. It required two shipments to replae the one part that was not lining up just right - but finally assembled and it's beautiful. I've been looking for two years for something like this and it did not disappoint. Now I'll finish up the guest room and await my daughters to arrival with a beautiful welcoming bed. Thanks Target for the fabulous price and prompt original shipment! Love Target - just honor Family and please close on Thanksgiving.
