Q: What is the difference between S1 and S2, besides the price? Does one have different features that the other does not?

submitted by KMG - 3 years ago
  • A: The S1 is battery powered for portability. The S2 is reliant on being plugged in.

submitted byggb - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi KMG! The S1 and S2 each have their own features as well as similarities. First, the S1 Plus is portable with a built-in rechargeable battery and weighs 3 pounds. The S2 Plus weighs 2.5 pounds and is not rechargeable but can be used anywhere with the 12-Volt Power Adapter. Spectra also offers a 12-Volt Vehicle Power Adapter so both the S1 Plus and S2 Plus can be powered inside of your vehicle. Both pumps deliver hospital strength performance and each pump comes out of the box with everything you need to get started single or double pumping.

Q: Does this pump have another ways to pump without electricity? Like if I had to pump in my car?

submitted by Nicole - 3 years ago
  • A: You'd have to buy a power adapter that lets you plug it into your car. There is no battery backup in the S2.

submitted byggb - 3 years ago
  • A: Great question Nicole! You can purchase the 12 Volt Vehicle Power Adapter to power the Spectra S2 Plus in your car. The Spectra 12 Volt Vehicle Power Adapter is specifically designed to power the S2 Plus model and properly deliver the correct amount of voltage to the motor for maximum power and efficiency. The Spectra 12 Volt Vehicle Power Adapter is designed to power and charge the S1 Plus model inside of a vehicle as well. Have a wonderful day!

Q: Is this pump great for exclusively pumping?

submitted by Grand - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Grand! Yes, the Spectra S2 is great for exclusively pumping. Out of the box it comes with everything you need to get started single or double pumping.

  • A: I was an exclusive pumper. I received a free Medela pump from the hospital and actually switched to this one! it is wonderful!

submitted byArika - 4 years ago

Q: the intro said "Power Source: Battery-powered, Electric". Is this also operated by battery? Thanks

submitted by qian - 4 years ago
  • A: No. This model is soley eletric powered and has no battery. However, the SL1 model (it's blue) does have a rechargeable battery. I will say yu can't go wrong with this pump. I had medela and it stopped working after not even 1 month of use. This system is closed so no milk can get into areas it shouldn't. I wish they were around when I had my first.

submitted byNashvillemomma - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Qian. The Spectra S2 Plus is not battery operated or rechargeable. It comes with a 12-Volt Power Adapter that can be used in any 100-240 volt U.S.A. wall outlet. We also provide a 12-Volt Vehicle Power Adapter in case you need to operate your pump inside of your vehicle. We appreciate your question.

Q: Does this come with a bag?

submitted by Cassie - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Cassie. Unfortunately the Spectra S2 Plus does not come with a bag.

submitted bySpectra Product Expert - 2 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: No, but one can be purchased. I can tell you from experience this pump works better than any of the pumps that come with a bag. And at this price buying a bag separately isn't a problem.

Q: The details are incorrect for this product and would be considered false advertising. It states the S2 is battery powered in multiple places. why is this?

submitted by Questions - 14 days ago
  • A: The listing for the Spectra S2 was updated by the Target digital team and incorrectly lists that it has a battery. We have requested that the information be updated and the battery option removed. The Spectra S2 Pump does not have a battery. Sorry for the inconvenience.

submitted by Aly - 1 year ago
  • A: The bottle nipples included with the Spectra S2 Plus Hospital Strength Double Electric Breast Pump are slow flow nipples. Wishing you the best of luck on your breastfeeding journey!

Q: What other bottles are compatible with the flanges? I have a bunch that family bought but haven't had time to go through and check, and would rather return them unopened if they won't work

submitted by Ktaunt - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi! Great question! Wide-neck bottles are compatible with Spectra baby USA flanges. The Spectra Small to Wide Neck Milk Bottle Cap Adapter is sold separately and can convert standard narrow neck bottles for direct pumping. Extra bottles can make pumping more convenient! Wishing you the best of luck on your breastfeeding journey!

Good suction, but it has no durability. I used mine a few times a maximum of 10 in 40 days of purchase and this stopped working properly. I'm very disappointed with this pump !!! don't waste your money and your time . believe me look for something else .

Pump is great. You don’t need to spend the extra $ on the coverage target offers. Spectra has its own warranty that comes with your pump for 2 years after purchase and 90 days for the pump parts.

Did not come with silicone flanges like I thought it would, and it had no suction at all. There’s much better options out there.

I loved everything about this pump. A thunderstorm fried mine one night and a new one was too expensive to get when I only planed to breastfeed for 4 more months. There are minimal parts, very easy to clean, can switch speeds with one button and it has a timer! I also love how accessible extra parts are. This pump is all around amazing.

I was using the Ameda mya joy free with my insurance and liked it but I was struggling with producing enough so a new year came so I could get another pump and this spectra changed my milk production. I was getting about .5 oz more each session. Don’t forget the flanges and duckbills will wear out and need replaced. I have an inverted nipple and the suction is strong enough to help pull it out and I think that’s why this one works better.

I got this pump when I had my first baby. I used for one year and, after I was done pumping for her, I put it away. I had a baby this year again, and got my Spectra to pump for him, and was surprised to see my pump was not working as it should. I was getting very little milk while pumping with it. It got to a point where I was getting no milk while pumping with the Spectra, and getting milk while pumping with a manual pump. I contacted customer service and they didn’t do anything because Spectra only offer a 2 year warranty. My pump is older than that, but was only used for one year before it broke. There wasn’t even an offer to fix it. So, I do not recommend. Especially if you are exclusively pumping, because this pump won’t last you long.

Initially, I used a pump through my insurance and it was a disaster. After reading reviews, I decided to give spectra a try. This product gets the job done but I did have trouble with the assembling parts.

I love this pump. The suction is really good. The only issue I had is that the flanges the pump came with were too big so I had to buy a smaller one. Other than that I had no issues with this pump.

I was able to get mine free through insurance, I did have to purchase new flange sizes because the 2 sizes they sent with were too big. Over all its a good product! I wish the starter kit came with a measuring tool to help figure out correct flange size if the sizes sent aren't the correct size for the person using it.

Bought it and by the 3rd day it wasn’t fully working like the 1st. I’d try to pump both at the same time and the left side worked perfectly fine but it weakly pumped the right. Had to sit double the time to pump. Not sure what caused it so I could fix it because usually it’s not the product that doesn’t work, it’s the person who can’t put it together. I don’t know how it was always the right one because the left works perfect, I even switched the tubes around. Loved the nightlight feature and the pink color! I would still recommend it, I probably got a faulty one.

This pump has great power but it only usable with an outlet nearby. I thought I would be okay with sitting and pumping, but as an EP-er I needed more freedom and ended up getting the S1 Pump Instead.

Just purchased this pump and have used it lightly for 3 days. Today I turned it on and noticed it was not pumping, and upon inspection found that the pump assembly needs to be replaced already, making this pump useless now. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

First baby, 4 weeks old, breastfeeding while home but need to generate a stash for returning to work. I got a set of elvies because I thought it would be best for my work environment (medical procedures without regular breaks), but I wasn’t ever getting more than maybe 1 oz total in a pumping session. I was also told that baby had gained the minimum amount of weight by 4 week check up and I needed to consider supplementing with formula (fed is best). I thought maybe I needed a differebt lump strategy so got this at the recommendation of a LC, and it is DREAMY. Elvie is great for its freedom, but maybe not ideal for building supply up. This Spectra pump is gentle. Feels exactly like my baby nursing, I express quickly, and it’s easy to use and clean, and I’m slowly but surely seeing more milk. GET IT.

Comes with everything to double or single pump but would be great if flange sizes were an available choice as not everyone is 24 or 28mm, has better suction than my Medela symphony (only 200 hours on it so not old) it’s so effective at getting my milk out but I usually only use expression modes and a lot of hand massage
