I bought these for my grandson for Christmas, so I haven't given it to him yet, but these do have a very strong chemical smell to them. I have had them sitting in the garage for a few days, and it is not going away. I am not sure if washing them would help, so I am on the fence about giving them to him. He just turned one, so everything goes in his mouth. They are very cute, and seem well made.
