Q: On the order page, the picture of the peanut butter shows "just stir and enjoy" the box to the right side says "NO need to stir, ready right out of the jar." Which IS it?? Don't want the no-stir .

A: This Peanut Butter NEEDS to be stirred when you first open the jar as the oil separates to the top of the peanut butter. Once it is stirred into the peanut butter it doesn't separate back out. We don't refrigerate it in our house and have never had a problem over the years of using it. A great "simple" peanut butter without any additional ingredients than Peanuts and Salt!
submitted byLittleRhody - 7 years agoA: Thought I would try this brand as I have always been a Jif guy...got tired of ALL the additives...Smuckers to me is pretty good and after purchasing I now turn it upside down...roll it around a bit which seems to mix the oil much more... than when I open the jar it is easier to mix...yes it is a bit grainy but hey it's made with peanuts. I am now staying with Smuckers all Natural...OldManDave
submitted byOdlManDave - 5 years agoA: This natural peanut butter needs to be stirred. Sometimes it needs stirred a bit again. I store it upside down before opening it for the first time. That moves some of the oil to the original bottom so the whole thing is a bit easier to stir.

A: Great set of questions! While we always suggest speaking to your vet, we can confirm our peanut butter does not contain Xylitol, which sometimes is used in other brands and is harmful for dogs to consume. Additionally, you do not need to keep this product refrigerated once opened. Hope this info helps!

Tried for the first time on a trip. Decided to dump out the extra oil and so far the thickness is good. More gritty than my usual brand (Kirkland) but still good. A little more salt would add a bit more flavor but it tastes fresh and lands hearty like a good natural PB should.

love you peanut butter but i did call about this before. Your creamy peanut butter isn't creamy it has tiny bit of peanuts in it which give me cramps. I keep trying it and it keeps having the tiny bits of peanuts. i. love that it is natural and don't mind stirring the oil. But he bits i just can't take the pain.

I know you need to stir natural peanut butter but this stuff, it's like the top layer is liquid and the bottom is nearly solid. You would have to scoop the whole jar out and really mix the heck out of it to get into a form approaching something you could apply to white bread. It tasted fine but if you have to sit there and stir and stir to get it to a normal peanut butter consistency it isn't worth the effort.

I totally LOVE this Peanut butter. It is delicious and satisfying. It's also wonderful that it has no additives, like sugar, for example. Personally, I go through a tall jar of it every couple of months. The last part of each jar ends up being dried out somewhat though, so, I'm going to try keeping it in the refrigerator (once I get near the bottom), going forward. I do consider this an incredibly valued food item to have on hand. I'm 73 yrs old, but love it like a kid!

I grew up having peanut butter as probably the best comfort food. But as i got older, at some point my body was rejecting all the oils and additives that were in regular PB and i could no longer eat it. The powdered stuff is good, but not the same. I even tried to make my own, but i can't blend it like this. Smuckers Natural Creamy PB is so good. True it's not as creamy compared to those i grew up with, but at my age (50+), I'm just happy to find a more affordable option. Heck, in 3 weeks i devoured 2 jars of this. Thank you Smuckers!!

Today (1/14/25) I tried to stir a newly opened Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter, 26 oz. The "best used by" date was Dec 2024). It was too stiff to stir in the jar, so I had to dig it out to stir it in a bowl. It took a lot of stirring to make it spreadable. I was not happy!

I always expect to give up something, usually in the way of taste, but, in my opinion,Smucker's tastes better. The clear, unsugared taste of peanuts and the perfect amount of salt are so simple, and really, isn’t that part of what cleaning up your food choices is? Simplify and enjoy.
