Rated 5 out of 5 by from AN ACTUAL REAL review of Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier The one thing about reviews is people love to just complain. Not many make a point to come say that they love something. They will tell their friends but rarely online. So I'm here to give you a TO THE POINT review on this product. It is a great humidifier. We've owned ours for about 5 years and this puppy pumps out steam like crazy which is fabulous. When my kids are sick this is the first thing that goes on and it is VERY helpful. This weekend 3 of us were sick so a friend dropped off a cool mist humidifier. What a joke that was! I hear all these sensitive helicopter moms freak out about a warm mist one and these cool mist ones hardly put anything into the air. That one (a vicks also) took 2 days to use half a tank! Um what? on high at that! Give me the mist, open my airways, clear up this bronchial mess please! Say no to the cool mist ones. To the people who are seeing "stuff" no it does not keep burning, no it is not a default it's your typical consumer who doesn't read the handbook that says to use distilled water. UGH! People. You CAN actually use tap water. We have for 5 years! When we're in heavy cold season (aka a lot of use) I make sure to take the white side out and scrub the base of the heating unit w/ vinegar. It is very easy. Don't be lazy and you'll be fine. LOL!! There is no filter which I'd actually prefer & it is easy to take apart and clean. If it's leaking that is because there are a few notches in the base that slide and fit together to snap in the white side and then the water tank fits into place. Too many things get recalled cause humans get lazy. Anyway! this is a great machine. You cannot go wrong. Read the booklet, clean it out once in a while and it will help you get well a million times over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Ever I love this humidifier. We had an older style but dropped the tank and broke it. I'm sure there was a replacement tank we could of bought, but since they had a newer model, we just figured get it. There are no filter to worry about. We had a sunbeam before, but then all of the sudden we were not able to find the filters. That is the main reason way we switched. I have one for my bedroom and loved it so much I bought one for my office. In the office it keeps me from not getting dry eyes. I like that you can use the vicks drops or tabs. I have not used either with them yet, but when I get sick I plan on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems solidly built, like the choice of steam levels So far, a very nice replacement for our 'old school' Vicks steamer that died--holds a lot of water, has easy and helpful steam level controls, plus space for vapo-steam liquid (for colds) if you like to use it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BURNING SHTUFF!! There is no automatic shut off on this machine! So, if you have it on while you are sleeping and it runs out something in it will burn. The first time this happened I thought it was just a defect so I exchanged it only to have it happen on the new one. NO NO NO it stinks and is gross and probably not good to inhale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm Mist Humidifier works great This is our favorite kind of humidifier. Warm mist really helps with congestion. This unit works well. Fill it up to the top and it will run all night. The only downside is that due to it's compact size, you do have to refill it more often than the one with the larger capacity. I would buy this item again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well but has some issues Works well and the warm mist does help with dry air and allergies. Only con would be that the water sometimes leaks into the bottom and it must be drained. Also, once it's been on for a while and runs out of water you have to turn it off for a little bit before you can re-run it again.
