A: Bar Keepers Friend All Purpose Cleanser and Polish cannot be used on polished stone, but we do recommend using Bar Keepers Friend Granite & Stone Cleaner & Polish to clean a quartz island.

A: They are the same product; with the exception the Bar Keepers Friend Powder Cleanser doesn’t come water added. Some people like to use the Bar Keepers Friend Liquid Cleanser, that way they don’t guess on how much water to add. With the Bar Keepers Friend Powder Cleanser, you can make it more abrasive with the less water you add.

A: No? I read on another website that it has more detergent as it is more focused on grease from cooking than the all purpose cleanser.

A: Even though there is no list of ingredients on the label, one can infer that the product DOES NOT contain ammonia. Here is the except from the label: "Contains Oxalic Acid... Do not mix with other chemicals. such as bleach or ammonia".
submitted bySleepless inChicago - 8 years agoA: I got this information directly from a google search on barkeeper's friend which was very easy & simple to do. When in doubt, google it. Active ingredients. According to the 2015 material safety data sheet, the ingredients are feldspar, linear sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (DDBSA), and oxalic acid. Unlike more abrasive cleaning powders such as Comet and Ajax, Bar Keepers Friend uses oxalic acid as its primary active ingredient.

Not only is this powdered cleaner amazing for scrubbing down sinks, tubs, and showers, but it's also amazing to clean enameled cast iron pots. We have an open flame stove, so my pots often get discolored. This stuff saves them, every time (this and a little elbow grease). It's the best cleaner!

Best cleaner for stainless steel, hands down. I use it on my stainless steel pans, stainless steel sink, and it makes a great deep cleaner for oven racks— just make a paste and let it sit for a while. Also works wonders on tough soap scum or hard water spots in the bathroom. And it’s easy to purchase and affordable at Target.

I don't know of another cleaner that does as good of a job cleaning my sinks as BKF does, especially without choking fumes or irritated skin. If i run out, it goes right to the top of my shopping list. My home is old and the sink is worn down enamel - until I can afford to replace it, this stuff is able to turn in back to white and makes it look new again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
