A: Bar Keepers Friend All Purpose Cleanser and Polish cannot be used on polished stone, but we do recommend using Bar Keepers Friend Granite & Stone Cleaner & Polish to clean a quartz island.

A: They are the same product; with the exception the Bar Keepers Friend Powder Cleanser doesn’t come water added. Some people like to use the Bar Keepers Friend Liquid Cleanser, that way they don’t guess on how much water to add. With the Bar Keepers Friend Powder Cleanser, you can make it more abrasive with the less water you add.

A: Even though there is no list of ingredients on the label, one can infer that the product DOES NOT contain ammonia. Here is the except from the label: "Contains Oxalic Acid... Do not mix with other chemicals. such as bleach or ammonia".
submitted bySleepless inChicago - 8 years agoA: I got this information directly from a google search on barkeeper's friend which was very easy & simple to do. When in doubt, google it. Active ingredients. According to the 2015 material safety data sheet, the ingredients are feldspar, linear sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (DDBSA), and oxalic acid. Unlike more abrasive cleaning powders such as Comet and Ajax, Bar Keepers Friend uses oxalic acid as its primary active ingredient.

Barkeeper’s Friend is an essential cleaner for stainless steel sinks and quartz countertops. Knowing that it is an abrasive is helpful in ensuring you don’t overuse the product. In the sink, this stuff is as effective as steel wool! I know quartz is not supposed to take on abrasives, but it’s the only way to remove rust and stains. Lightly and evenly resurfacing the counter, with barkeepers friend, has brought back the natural beauty of my quartz countertops.
