My favorite blue mascara by far, and I’ve gone through a few. This brand and version in general is so good. It’s the only one that doesn’t really flake and holds well for my straight eyelashes. I also like that it removes easily in water.

This mascara starts out good but after a few months the applicator gets chunky and glopped together! The overall mascara is cute, but doesn't come off when i wash my face (it's not the waterproof mascara). I wouldn't waste your money

While you initially enjoyed its performance, the applicator becoming chunky and the mascara's difficulty in removal are understandable concerns. Mascara wands can become clumpy over time due to product buildup. Regularly wiping the wand on a tissue before and after each use can help prevent this. Regarding removal, while this isn't the waterproof version, some mascaras, even washable ones, can be more resistant to removal than others. Using an oil-based makeup remover specifically designed for eye makeup is often more effective than standard cleansers for removing stubborn mascara. If these issues persist, exploring other L'Oréal mascaras or options from different brands might be worthwhile.

I don't mind the formula. My lashes look pretty nice but it takes lots of brushing to coat them well. I've tried burgundy and cobalt blue, and they don't show up super well. Blue is pictured in the review

L'Oreal voluminous mascara was my go to mascara for over 20+ years. But for the past year it's been awful:( I've been attempting to use their "new" formula and it's just awful… Why did you do this to us L'Oreal!?

It's my all time favorite mascara. No clumping, and use it with the primer for long lasting, natural curling lashes that are full and long. Internet mascaras are like $45, and this is much better at a fraction of the cost.

New formula is horrible. Used for many years because I want to be able to wash it off easily without losing eyelashes. Hate the clumping also. I’ve returned it and will not use it again. Should have kept the 5x we all loved. Why fix what isn’t broken?

This is NOW horrible mascara. The original was the best. I can’t understand why the change? Also, I posted a review several months ago, and it is no where to be found. In addition, reviews I read previously aren’t there anymore? There are MANY more negative reviews. Instead of editing/deleting reviews, how about go find/produce the original formula and then you won’t have to worry about deleting negative reviews.

I have used this for over 10 years and this product was amazing. Now, there clearly is a new formulation: the tube displays a gold band around it, the mascara itself is "stickier" and can much easily remove your eye lashes when taking this off. The old formulation (non waterproof) easily came off in water, which was helpful for removal. Now, the new non-waterproof formulation is very stick and hard to remove. Additionally, my eye lids, skin around my eyes, face, have become red, itchy, & inflamed due to the new formulation.

Zero stars. Do NOT buy. It clumps and stays in the lashes for days in end, clumping more with each passing day. It is impossible to remove even with Vaseline and hot water. It breaks the lashes and pulls them out. As a professional makeup artist, I used the Original Volumous 5x for decades on myself and on models in photoshoots for professional cosmetology trade magazines. The original 5x was the best mascara. I am so disappointed that L'Oreal changed the formula and made it beyond junk. I'm in search of a new comparable mascara. Zero stars. Do NOT buy.

Can't stand the new formula! Bring back the origional 5X mascara. This clumps and isn't anywhere near as good as the original. My lashes are still longer but not as full. It's harder to remove form my lashes as well. I'm on the hunt for a new mascara and not L'oreal voluminous 15X. I've used 5X mascara for years and always received compliments on my lashes. So sad you changed it.

New formula is terrible -- leaves lashes hard, brittle. Am now using Bare Minerals Lashtopia. Just like (maybe even better) than Original LOreal Voluminous. It's a shame L'Oreal messed with their Original winning formula. If it "ain't broke, don't fix it." Try Bare Minerals Lashtopia for replacement of our former favorite mascara.

NEW FORMULA IS AWFUL. This used to be my favorite mascara but ever since the reformulation I can no even use it, it’s like Vaseline in a tube with black dye. Doesn’t stay on your eyelashes and wears terrible upon application. Please bring back the original formula

Cannot tell even in the sunlight that there is color to this mascara. It was at least a nice application & consistency though, but I wanted this for COLOR!

New formula says it lasts for 24 hours. I find it is difficult to remove with soap and water and with makeup remover. It also clumps and smears terribly. I have used the previous version for years, loved it, but am now looking at other brands. If you can tell me which of your mascaras are like the older version, I would eagerly try that.
