Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque product details page

I am an African American woman with 4A/4B hair (tight coils). I have been using the Shea Moisture line since I began my hair journey over a year ago and I have yet to run into any issues with any of these products. They all smell great and perform exactly as specified on the package. The price is awesome but, the Deep Treatment Masque and Hibiscus mixes well with raw shea butter (in case you ever need to stretch your amount) This product is my staple product and I freak out when I am running lo w. I am a wife and mother of three and my entire home is natural. From dreads to twist outs, I use a dab of this product of my boys hair on "wash day" before their father cuts their hair (makes for a better hair cut since it softens the hair). Also, I recently began to use this product on my daughter's hair and I can see her hair is growing from the added attention. I understand that not everyone will be pleased with this product. My heart goes out to those who had bad experiences from the product line. Conversely, the 'heads' in my home stand in agreement that Shea Moisture is a great, inexpensive product line for Multicultural Hair.

You will receive great benefits from this product if you use it as a leave in. I'm transitioning to natural with 4a/4b hair. I style my hair in a lot a twist outs. When i use this and a lil coconut oil as a leave in, my hair is so soft. No dry look or feel at all. If you buy, USE AS A LEAVE IN!!! You wont be sorry. Worth the cash. I've had it for a while now and i still haven't used all of it yet!

I'll have to say that i've had this particular product for about a year and have had many uses out of it. This masque i use for my deep conditioning sessions, you know those times when you've mistreated your hair and held off washing and conditioning it out of laziness...lol I apply it in session and cover my head with a the self-heating foil shower cap and go about my business. It leaves my hair soft, moist and more manageable. So after rinsing putting in my leave-in conditioner and moisturiz er a breeze. It recoups my hair and anyone not sure, take my word for it try it you won't be sorry.

I am not a woman of color but I have curly hair though not super curly -- wish I did. I feel as though I have purchased every conditioner on the face of the earth from Keratase, Pureology, and any other boutique expensive label you can name. None, I mean NONE, of them comes close to what this product does. I put it on my dry hair, put a shower cap over it leave it on for 30 minutes, and then wash my hair during my shower. I have so many compliments! Plus in addition to the moisturizing and shine elements, I think it's making my hair curlier. And the price is amazingly low compared to all the luxury brands I have sitting, unused, in my bathroom cabinet.

First, I used the product as a deep conditioner. I left the product in for about an hour after using a shampoo. My hair felt great! The product had great "slip." Next, I two strand twisted my hair with the product as a leave in and allowed my hair to dry fully for a twist out. My twists were fluffy and bouncy and it gave my hair a great texture. I have also used this product on dry hair to do a two strand twist out with a spritz of water. Again, my hair was lovely. With both tw ist out I sealed the ends of my hair with a tiny bit of olive oil. I would definitely recommend this product as a deep conditioner and as a leave in for wet or dry hair. There is no white film or residue, there is a very slight texture that some would describe as waxy. Nonetheless, my hair felt great to me. I love how moisturized my hair felt, also the smell of the product was okay. About my hair - I would consider my self as having "4b," medium density, and a bit past shoulder length natural hair.

I am about as white as they come but I have that Scottish/Irish extremely fine 3b/corkscrew type curly hair which soaks up moisture like a sponge. I am now on my second tub of this after trying it on a whim to use as a once-a-week treatment. I love it so much, I actually started using it as my regular conditioner. A little goes a long way! I like to leave this on for about 5 minutes while still in the shower and then rinsing it but leaving some in. I live in Colorado, which is very dry, and hav e been suffering from an extremely dry itchy scalp this winter. The use of this after a salicylic acid based shampoo has mostly alleviated my symptoms. I usually wash/condition with this every other day and wear second day hair in between. If I wash two days in a row, I'll use a conditioner more suitable for daily use on the second day.

I really wanted to like this deep conditioner. It has great ingredients like shea butter and argan oil and it only costs [$]. I wanted to add this product into my regular "go to" stash. Instead, I will be giving this away to a friend and I hope it works much better for her than me. I'm African American and I have dense, thin strands of kinky coily hair that soaks up moisture and even cheap conditioners like v05 and suave detangle my hair. This product made my hair dry, left a weird ki nd of film on my hair and worse of all, tangled my hair up!! What an awful experience! I didn't care for the smell either. It smelled like cake batter and perfume.

My son is biracial and he has a head of super curly hair that tends to get a bit unruly from rough play. I use the Shea Moisture Restorative Shampoo with this masque. I wash his hair with the shampoo and then leave this masque in daily as conditioner--I don't rinse it out. Then I detangle with a wide tooth comb, and viola! Super soft, manageable curls. At first, his hair is a little creamy with the masque--I sometimes run my hands through it and use the excess as lotion and even lip balm--but i t soaks in by morning, and it doesn't stain his clothes or anything like that. Also, everyone always comments on how wonderful he smells. I love that this product is organic. I'm afraid of loading up his head with stuff that has crazy ingredients. Awesome product, and the company seems quite ethical, too, so it's nice to know that you are supporting good folks.

Excellent moisturizing conditioner. I used this as a deep conditioner and kept it on using a plastic cap only, for one hour. I've never had hair this moisturized. Excellent ingredients--all natural--no mineral oils, petro..nothing that will harm your hair--only ingredients that will enable your hair to grow. You can't go wrong with this product. The price is excellent. Much better product than the Carol's Daughter Smoothie and others. A must try for newbies and a staple for others.

I was attracted by the price, the all-natural ingredients, and the fact that it's cruelty-free. I first used it as a deep conditioner, and I was very disappointed. I felt like it did absolutely nothing for my hair. Later I heard that this product can also be left in the hair and used a moisturizer. Sure enough, the directions say "Leave on hair for 5-30 minutes, then thoroughly rinse, or leave in hair and use as a frizz-free moisturizing styling cream." I tried it. Nothing had been ab le to moisturize my dry, brittle, and damaged transitioning hair before this. My hair was super soft, supple, and it held on to that moisture for DAYS before I had to apply more. My new growth was also very nicely defined. It's definitely a staple, dare I say holy grail? The fragrance is a soft mix between vanilla and cake batter, not overpowering at all. I've since cut my hair and this product continues to perform wonderfully on my coils. As long as they don't change anything, I'm a customer for life!
