One O'Clock Lab Band - Winter One-Derland (CD)

The One O'Clock Lab Band, the flagship jazz ensemble of the University of North Texas, releases it's first holiday album after decades of Grammy-nominated recordings and world touring. Winter One-derland brings the band's signature swing and precision to twelve classic carols and holiday standards, arranged by some of the genre's most respected names, including Alan Baylock, Richard DeRosa, and Ralph Carmichael. The record moves from the warmth of Angels We Have Heard on High and White Christmas to the playful energy of Frosty the Snowman and the original tune Santa's Been Swingin', with vocalist Shelby Yount featured on select tracks. Recorded by today's UNT jazz students, it carries forward a legacy built on seven Grammy nominations and performances in more than twenty countries, made for anyone looking to add real big band swing to their holiday season.
