About the Author

Ellen Bar was a soloist with New York City Ballet for fourteen years, dancing both classic works and new ballets by choreographers Benjamin Millepied and Christopher Wheeldon. After dancing, Ellen became NYCB's Director of Media Projects, where she produced branded content and numerous short films, many of them in collaboration with Tony Award winner director/choreographer Justin Peck. Ellen produced the dance film NY Export: Opus Jazz and the feature documentary film Ballet 422. Ellen is now a freelance film producer and consultant living in Brooklyn.
