Anna Kodé is an award-winning features reporter with The New York Times, where she covers the built environment, culture, and urban life. She's written about the urban design of "Sesame Street," the death of the public bench, and how the steel fence became a symbol of the American dream. Her work uncovers the greater significance of everyday objects and cultural moments, illuminating how deeper meaning can be found in the seemingly mundane. Kodé's reporting has been featured on Good Morning America, WNYC, and 99% Invisible. She is also an adjunct professor at New York University, where she teaches a course on writing about city streets.
