A solo album that establishes Abbie Lathe's credentials in folk territory, Avebury is a colourful, broad mixture of traditional songs, a clutch of acoustic pop rock covers and her own eclectic originals. Abbie's warm, expressive voice decorates Avebury Song, with frolic and an English root. That same Englishness pervades the ballad Searching for Lambs, her vocal a rich, whispered, come hither, as well as a laid back, almost classical rendering of Paul Weller's English Rose.
