Maida Korte writes at the intersection of interior design and family life, capturing the humor, chaos, and hard-earned lessons both bring. A midwestern workhorse with big-country energy, she's raised four daughters while running a design firm for decades and appearing on three episodes of HGTV's New Spaces. Her debut memoir was Gutted: How an Old House Remodeled Me (She Writes Press, 2026). Maida holds a BS in interior design and an MFA in writing. She contributes widely and publishes weekly on her blog and Substack. Maida lives in Lake in the Hills, Illinois, with her husband.
