Neat and once a blue moon on one ice cube! Top 3 bourbon all the time. Everyone fusses about Pappy, but I put it up there with Pappy, Eagle Rare and Weller! Close to my favorite Old Fitzgerald and Russell's Reserve! All my 6 favorites, depending what my mood is. Of course easier to buy then the 1st four. Been nice to get a 3 to 5 dollars off coupon for my birthday!

Seeing it at my favorite beverage depot at a nice price point, I decided to try it. I had read reviews but was wonderfully surprised as I unsealed the bottle taking in the rich yet smooth aroma. The notes of dried fruit and oak were forefront. As I took my first sip I was even more impressed with the subtle Carmel effects and the lingering fruits. The oak was also present but the pepper was just a trace. It's burn was enjoyable but short lived. This was not a problem as it only invited to take another sip.
Only bourbon I'll use for old fashioneds anymore

I recommend Basil Hayden to all my friends because of its taste and smoothness when drinking it neat. Basil Hayden also makes a delicious Old Fashioned. In fact, go to Fleming's Steakhouse and order one, they do an excellent job with theirs. Cheers!!!

I tried Basil Hayden while doing a tour of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail recently and it has become one of my favorite Bourbons. If you like a smooth and favorable bourbon you should try it. I tried a lot of more expensive bourbons while on this trip but BH is in the top two of the trip.

I discovered Basil a few years ago with a friend and her husband. They were big bourbon drinkers and once I had it I instantly loved it. Now to this day, my local bar keeps this always in stock just for me. My favorite!

Since we share the same last name , My friends saw it fitting that I Received a bottle for the holidays, it does not disappoint the family name. Very smooth easy drinking with ice or in cocktails. Highly recommend getting a bottle.

I got a bottle of the Red Wine Cask aged, and it is fantastic! Neat, on ice, or in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned, it's super smooth, but not at all nondescript. This will become a regular in my house!
