Battat Penguin Math Balance Scale

Got this a couple of months ago for my 2 and a half granddaughter and absolutely loves it. She pretend plays with the fish and is starting to have an idea for equal weight. The colors are brights the penguin scale sturdy.

I’ve been looking for fun ways to start the preschool/homeschool process with my neurodivergent 4 year old that keep his interest. This has been amazing! He loves to make them balance! He loves to see what weighs more! We weigh things around the house. I really feel like he gets excited to learn because we’re “just playing”. Battat products are my new go-to. I will continue to buy for him and my 2 year old. They really benefit from something like this. We have the stir and sort food court set and the penguin balance scale. I’m looking to get the alphabet train and the light table next!

They love weighing things and this is so colorful and just perfect to hold my kids short attention span! It’s very easy to set up, it does come with some smaller fishies so be mindful of that, but overall it’s a great learning toy.

I love games or toys that teach; it’s the best way to learn and remember what you’ve learned cause you’re having fun.

She even goes to my mother in laws and plays with her balancing scale. So when I saw this adorable penguin balancing scale, I knew she would be thrilled! This whole set is adorable! The penguin scale is cute and very durable. It comes with a variety of fish in different sizes, shapes, and weights. Even a few mystery creatures where you have to figure out their weight. My daughters have so much fun seeing how they can balance the scale or see which fish are bigger than the other. It's so cute! I especially love that the base doubles as a storage compartment for the fish. It also comes with little challenge booklets that fit perfectly in the back of the penguin. The penguins head also moves depending on which side is heavier. I love it and so do my kids! It's a fun and educational toy. Definitely recommend!

Each fish is weighted so you can combine different amounts to balance out to certain numbers which makes learning about weight and measuring fun and hands on. It also helps with addition and subtraction skills and understanding them in a way they can touch. We have also been using the pieces for basic multiplication and division skills as well. The whole thing is very well made. It looks really cute and helps make math fun. There is a slot in the back that holds the pamphlets with various instructions so they don't get lost and all of the fish fit in the base. It keeps things tidy as well as keeping them from getting lost. The arms move a a good speed so they do not flip items too quickly but move freely when weigh is added. The penguins face has a little arrow so they can tell if it is balanced as well, not just by height of the arms which helps the younger kids.

It can also serve as a good tool when learning about balance and weight. It's very lightweight and easy to travel with or take on the go. The penguin itself is wood and the balancing scale and trays are plastic along with the storage container to hold the 30 sea creature pieces. You get 3 different playbooks for developmental levels that can be stored behind the penguin inside of the slot. The penguins head tilts when the balancing tray moves. This is great for learning and can make it fun. I recommend it.
