Description

Book Synopsis

Belly is Nora Bateson's cookbook with almost no recipes. Moving through kitchens, gardens and hospital wards, she traces how food threads through family, illness, migration, labour, empire and ecology. Meals become " warm data" stories that reveal the systems shaping our lives while feeding our capacity for tenderness, protest and imagination. Written in her characteristically intimate, insurgent voice, Belly invites us to ask what - and whom - we are really feeding, and how we might nourish each other differently.
