Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Perfect summer shirt, bright color

It’s very lightweight and perfect for warm weather. Summertime running around and playing with friends. My son typically wears a size 10 to a 12. We purchased this shirt and a size large, and it fit him very well.

Great Quality Rash Guard Top

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this rash guard for my daughter in a size XL. She is 4'11 and around 100 lbs and it fit her perfectly. The size chart is accurate. The quality of the top is excellent. Nice, thick quick dry material. I love that it has sun protection. We chose the boys department rash guard because they are generally longer in length and the sleeves are a bit longer and have more coverage in general than the ones that come with the girls swimsuits. This top did not disappoint. The bright Lime color is so happy and easy to spot when she's in the pool or on the beach. I love it. My daughter said it is comfortable to wear. I definitely would recommend buying, for boys or girls.

Perfect for pool days or fun in the sun activities. Soft and flexible material. Very comfortable. My son is wearing a size medium in boys. My son is about 52 inches tall and about 54 pounds. Overall great quality product.

Boys rash guard tee by Cat and Jack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rash guard is stylish yet versatile. I love that this is made of a lightweight material but still strong enough to keep your arm safe from the sun. Gives it a nice unique touch. My son is wearing a size medium and it is very much true to his normal size. This is a nice loud color you can easily add some basic swim trunks to offset it.

Bright and easy to spot from a distance

I am able to easy spot this shirt at a pool or beach and able to pick him out quickly. The shirt is stretchy and easy to get over his head and gives great protection from the sun

Boy rash guard top - Lime

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves swimming and I love that this rash guard is swim safe and I am able to spot him from a mile away. My six year old is usually a kids size small/6, 42” tall - and this rash guard fits him perfectly with some room to spare. It was very easy to put on and take off (even after a whole day at the pool!). I’m hoping it’ll last the whole summer - maybe even next!

Muted Color

The shirt itself seems about the same quality as each year, but this year's "lime" green color is not as vibrant and definitely more yellowish-green. I wish it was as vibrant, as it's my child's favorite color and just a better color overall to spot someone when swimming when it's more vibrant than muted. I took 2 stars off for the muted color.
