Broken Lances is a campaign skirmish game of condotta warfare in Renaissance Italy. Command a small banner of just a few lances - mounted men-at-arms, armored squires, and support soldiers - in service to a larger mercenary force. As you lead your men through the raids and skirmishes of the narrative campaign system, new recruits will be attracted by your growing reputation and new opportunities will present themselves. Strength of arms is only half the battle, however. Maneuver, attrition, and back-door diplomacy are just as pivotal - after all, what good is victory on the battlefield if you need to spend all your earnings to restore your banner to fighting strength? The objective isn't always to win the fight, but rather to survive and prosper. Live to fight again; live to enjoy the spoils of war.

Eric Hoffman has been playing wargames since his father introduced him to Avalon Hill's Tactics II at the age of eight and has never met a set of rules he didn't tinker with or add to. He also loves RPGS and other tabletop games and began publishing his works in 2014, as well as writing and designing for Stormlord Publishing, Castellan Publishing, Small Niche Games, and Fire Ruby Designs. Eric lives in Maryland with his indulgent wife, two amazingly talented daughters, and a lazy beagle.
