Good jack, no pepper!
New recipe? Cabot pepper jack cheese is a longtime favorite, but seems they're now making with less (almost no) peppers. Or maybe we just got a couple of bad blocks - which is a first after many years.

Inconsistent quality
My poor review is for the inconsistency of the cheese. Sometimes I buy it and it’s superb, creamy and delicious. Other times it has a more plasticky concistency, for lack of a better description. When it’s good, we have a hard time not gobbling it all down. When it’s not, we have a hard time using it up. Is it seasonal, is something going on during shipping, I don’t know. I just know it’s tremendously disappointing that I can’t get a product with reliable quality.

There is nothing fiery about this...
This is a delicious Monterey Jack cheese with an herbal undertone. But it has no heat. Not in the well flecked bar I tried. So, five stars for quality, minus one for no heat.

Favorite pepperjack
This is the best pepperjack. I use this in breakfast burritos or mix it with cheddar to make queso or top enchiladas. This is also nice on a cheese and crackers plate. The cheese itself is soft and melty with a subtle flavor. The flecks of pepper add flavor, spice and color.
