  • A: Hi Nancy. Claussen pickles should always be refrigerated. The pickles and relish are not cooked and are packed fresh. For this reason, unlike most other pickled products, they need to be stored in the refrigerator. This is also why you find them in the refrigerated section in the grocery store.

Expired expiration dates

Expiration expired. I bought these through the Shipt delivery on Sept 1, 2026. Once I opened I noticed the pickles were extremely soft and the taste was different. Claussen's are usually crunchy. I looked at the expiration date and it waa July 2026. I didnt return, I just threw them away. I ordered them again online for pickup, as soon as I took them home, I checked the date and AGAIN a July 2026 expiration date. I did a return. Target, please check your chelf items for expiration dates. Two weeks later you're still selling expired food.

Claussen is top tier in my opinion. I’ve never had a bad jar, and the flavor is always perfect! These are by far my family favorite!

Pickle Please

A classic for any fridge in America, Claussen knows how to do pickles. These taste great and compliment many dishes. I love to chop them up in my tuna fish and have one straight out of the jar too. Offered at an average price, they're affordable to keep on hand. Perfect blend of spices, just wish they were organic.

These are the best pickles for when I make a Bloody Mary. The juice is a good blend with the other ingredienrs and the pickles absorb the Clamato juice perfectly.

Tasty but not crunchy

As a certified pickle girlie, I'm very particular about my pickles. While I enjoy Claussen pickles, they're not my favorite. The pros: it's got a sharp taste with good balance on the spices, great brine, and no dyes. The cons: they're not very crunchy and they get even softer if you put an opened jar in the fridge. Definitely in my pickle rotation but not my #1.

Love everything about a Claussen sandwich slice pickle! The texture snaps in your mouth! The dill is perfect and it just tastes FRESH! I love to eat them right out of the jar and love to top a sandwich with as well. The saltiness is just right! The slice size is perfect to layer on a grilled cheese or a burger!
