Sorry, can't recommend it.
Loved the machine until the spool ran out. I bought what I thought was a replacement, however the red spool thickness was more than the original black. Can't find a replacement without having to buy the whole string unit. I have a 13-inch electric string trimmer/edger. I tried to buy only the string but could not get past about 2 minutes before I had to remove the spool and extent the ends out another 4 inches. Sorry

Poorly engineered spool and string device....
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the V60 Weedwacker and it worked well at first, however....now, when I attempt to replace the string it gets tangled inside the spool housing. Even though the motor and everything else works fine, its trash with an inoperable string spool.

Disappointed
I have a Craftsman WC 215 Weed Eater and the string only last me about a minute before it all unwinds out no matter how many times I rewind it back in over and over again. So frustrating to have to stop and start and rewind the string for it only to last 1 minute.

CMCST920 REPLACEMENT STRING SPOOL
I have a CMCST920 and need to replace the string spool but can't seem to find one that fits this model. I like the unit but seems like there should be string spools available for it.

Replacement Spool
I’ve had this this a little over 2 years and is been pretty good until I needed more string and now it’s just annoying cause apparently I have to buy a whole new machine (at least the head of it). My son threw the original black spool away and now I can’t use it. I read all these other reviews talking about the same thing and there’s been no resolution to the problem. I’ve tried other craftsman refill spools and they don’t work. All I need is the original black spool that came with this thing and I’ll restring it myself but that too much to ask of Craftsman.

Can’t buy just the bump cap?
The bump cap broke on my CMCST920 trimmer. I’m reading other owners have had the same issue. You’re telling me I can’t buy the bump cap separately and must buy the entire housing unit?? I purchased the Craftsman brand based on its reputation and ability to get replacement parts when needed. Can someone explain the unavailability of the bump cap?

4 inch strings
Can't figure out how to string so more than 4 inches comes out on either side no matter how many times i bumb out or how hard. Is this normal? The manual says 6 inches

Absolute Garbage
This item is so cheap and doesn't last. Constant failures and just horrible. I bought Craftsman cause its Craftsman but apparently its just cheap junk now. Replaced a 20 year old model with this piece of garbage. I'm done.

The biggest headache in my garage
This is the biggest headache in my garage I bought the v20 brushless weed eater and after the original spool ran out it’s been a nightmare. I have ensured multiple times I’m replacing the string properly and with the recommended line ect. All the factory standards and it still won’t hold line. I’ve wasted so much time and money on this horrible product. Don’t waste your time with it like I have. I have a very small yard and don’t ask much of this thing and it can’t even handle that.

Cheap and fragile. Broke after one summer.
Time after light use over one summer. Craftsman says it is not covered by warranty. So this cheap product forces you to continue buying replacement heads in order to keep using. Craftsman should be ashamed of this product.

NO replacement part!
I purchased this trimmer last year ,already need to replace the spool head, and come to find out that it cannot be purchased separately. I purchased this from a major retailer based on the Craftsman reputation for durability and quality. Extremely unhappy.

Garbage
As with all of the other reviews, once the spool head is broke forget it you might as well throw it away. Bought the 20v string trimmer a year ago and it’s trash! Don’t buy!!!!

No replacement, now what do we do?
No replacement parts because it's been discontinued. is there any solution for this, besides going out and buying a new weedeater? All we own is craftsman, and the weedeater has worked great, but it's worthless now.

bought last summer due to craftsman name and interchangeability of battery with my other tools. need a new spool head and find it discontinued. what good is a warranty if they can't replace failed parts? now need to find a replacement - likely not Craftsman

Disappointed
Disappointed that I just purchased this trimmer last summer and now it is useless because they discontinued the replacement spool. Thought about re-stringing, but it sounds like that is a giant pain. Very disappointed that they would sell this item and so quickly discontinue leaving customers with a new item that is worthless. We have multiple Craftsman items/tools but that may change if there isn’t a logical response or compensation toward something new/useful.

This Sucks
The String Trimmer was great until you needed a string replacement then no one carries the part. So we have to go purchase a new String Trimmer - it will not be Craftsmen.
