The Hindge that would let it open and close ended up tearing right off the wood(if you would call it that) all so the bottom is bacically a thin piece of cardboard and can't hold to much weight. don't not recommend

After reading the manual and seeing the small number of pieces, assembly was relatively simple until I got to the railing that provides back support whiling sitting on. The holes didn't line up and I had to settle for forcing the screws in at odd angles to the side of the actual hole placement. Also, multiple labels stated different weight limits. I expected it to be flimsy, but was surprisingly sturdier than I thought it would be. Overall, a good project, but the trouble with the railing I mentioned earlier is nearly a deal breaker.

We were disappointed when looking over the pieces (see below), but we ended up keeping it, repairing it ourselves and putting it together. It is a decent piece for the price. If it was more money, we would have definitely taken it back. The saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. The bottom piece is just formica-very thin and it will not support much weight at all. Since the bench sits in the entryway, it works just fine. A couple of pieces had small nicks that we repaired and touched up...other places the stain wasn't even, but not enough to return. I contacted the company twice to get a replacement end piece, but they only sent a "canned" email back asking for more information, which I sent, but they never responded. I also called and got a recording, during hours, saying they couldn't take the call. I left my number and info, but they never called back. So if your piece is damaged, just return it. Do not expect to get the company to support you.

You'll not find a better bench for even double the price. I searched for days, this is the best bench for under $400 on the web. I have built hundreds of furniture items and find that often the instructions are pictorial and can be rather confusing. That is the only thing I can think is happening to the reviewers that are finding the holes don't match up. No offense, but these items are built in assembly line fashion and it is much more likely that they had a piece flipped than it is the item didn't fit together correctly. Very happy with this bench.

We purchased this for my mother-in-law for Christmas for her entryway of her home. She loved it! It took my husband a little over an hour to put together with no issues. It's quite sturdy and looks beautiful against her light gray walls and dark wood floors.

Unable to use as the lid came with two right side ins in it so is too crooked to use. Contacted Linon manufacturing and am still waiting for replacement parts over a week later! Would return but now they are out! How hard is it to pay attention when building something and make sure you put a right on the right and a left on the left!

The bench is beautiful and works very well with what I had intended it for. It only took two people to put together but I probably could have done it myself. The instructions were easy to follow and all the parts were labeled.

We just Rotozipped out an entrance on one of the side panels & voila!

I bought this bench two weeks ago. Putting it together was not too hard however the cuts of the bench are horrible. Do not buy this bench unless you want to sand it down. The pre cut holes did not match up. I am not able to open the storage door. Whats the point of buying a storage bench if im not able to open the door. Its horrible!!!

Bought this for my entry way. Sturdy and plenty of storage underneath bench. Expensive looking for the cheap price that I paid. Very happy with my purchase. Easy to put together.

I was very excited about this item. Unfortunately, we spent 45 minutes trying to put the bench together to find out, at the very end, the bench lid did not fit correctly. Save yourself the frustration and do NOT buy this bench.

This bench looks very nice and the wood color matches perfectly with my other furniture. But, the holes and the dowel rods do not line up properly. I tried to shave off part of the dowel rods to make them fit but they were just too far off. I ended up using a hammer to force the pieces together, only to have the dowel rod punch through the other side of the wood. Luckily, it was on the back side where it won't show. I will never purchase another piece of furniture from Linon. It is not worth the frustration.

Ordered this bench for my mom for Xmas, my husband started putting it together and the bench lid would not shut due to the side arm rests being in the way. We tried everything, nothing worked-we returned it and ordered a second one hoping it's cut correctly. My mom really liked the looks of the bench, but pointless to have if you can't lift the lid for storage.

The specs say the bench will hold up to 200 lbs, which was something that was important to me. Not only does the bench look great, it seems sturdy. While some of the screws were a little difficult to get into the holes, once in, we have not had any issues.

Very nice bench. Relatively easy to assemble. The finish fits in with our decor perfectly and the size doesn't take a lot of space from our entryway. Would recommend this product to anyone looking for a nice addition to their home.

Needed a bench for our entryway not only to look good, but to hold back packs, purses and many shoes. This bench is functional and looks great. The price was very the best of all the places I looked too, and was even better when I used my REDcard. Definitely a great purchase.
