Dan Liparini - Tessellations (CD)

Guitarist Dan Liparini's debut album "Tessellations" is a collection of original music written over the last several years, blending Jazz with elements of folk and ambient music. The meditative, winding title track appears just two songs before the slow gritty "Booze Blues", which gives way to "Convergence"; an up-tempo, mixed-meter odyssey with overdriven guitar and Wurlitzer. Although the record reflects a variety of influences, the identity of the music stays true throughout, with earthy melodies and intuitive playing by Jen Allen (keyboards), Matt Dwonsyzk (bass) and Eric Hallenbeck (drums).
