Italian artist Diego Marcon's (born 1985) installations and films co-opt familiar forms from horror movies, slapstick comedies and cartoons to underscore and subvert cinematic archetypes. Animation, stop-motion, musicals and other subgenres feature heavily, with echoes of popular culture ranging from the world of Tim Burton to the music videos of early MTV.
