About this item

Description

There's something very intriguing about the new album, Live In Buffalo, from Chicago blues-rock quartet The Empty Pockets. The band is known for it's intriguing collaborations, touring the world with Al Stewart, recording an album with Simon Kirke (of Bad Company and Free), writing and performing with Yacht Rock legend, Kenny Loggins. When renowned jazz saxophonist Elliot Scozzaro joins the band in earnest, the result is a heart-pumping, breath-taking bluesy romp. You can hear the road-tested outfit stretching and delighting in every impromptu moment. Erika Brett's powerful lead vocal anchors the track with swagger. Nate's bass and Adam's compact kit combine for a smooth but energetic groove, soulful, funky and tastefully leaving plenty of room. Josh's Fender roars out of a Blues Jr. - sharp and pure - moved to new heights as he riffs off of Elliot's alto sax chops. The synergy is intoxicating. You'll want to start each journey again, just as it is ending. This album demands a dedicated listening session.
