Fisher-Price Space Puzzle Blocks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This puzzle is exceptionally well-crafted. The solid wood pieces have a satisfying heft, and the base is impressively sturdy. I was genuinely impressed by the quality! My children and I found it to be thoughtfully designed. The colors are grouped in a way that offers additional context clues, which is especially helpful for younger kids. Both of my children were able to reassemble the puzzle without any trouble, and they’ve enjoyed playing with it numerous times since it arrived. One suggestion for improvement would be to include a cover or a method for securing the pieces for storage. I ended up putting the entire puzzle in a gallon-sized ziplock bag for convenience.

I like that it isn’t over simplified and is a challenge for my preschooler to attempt. She’s still at the point where she wants some help to complete, but having a puzzle that she can’t zoom through immediately is nice. I would definitely recommend this for any children that like a challenge!

When you remove all the pieces there is an outline that shows you which piece goes where, so you don't have to put it back together blind. I do find it weird however that there is blank space around the star. I don't understand why they wouldn't just make the other puzzle pieces fit those open areas.

Under the pieces, there’s an outline of where the pieces go, so it won’t be too difficult for young ones. It’s really cute and fun, but I get tired of these puzzles that have no real storage and could make a big mess if accidentally knocked over. That’s my only downside here.

Our daughter worked through it in about 5 minutes but she did enjoy putting the puzzle together with her great grandmother! She liked that the star fit inside a circle and can spin. I liked that it was a nice and quiet activity that inspired some critical thinking and that the puzzle seems like it will last for many years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All of my girls love this puzzle and they are ages 4, 7 and 9. They love the bright colors and smooth surface of each piece. The puzzle is well made and has a good weight to the wood. It is a bit challenging cause they only fit one way and you have to get them just right but after a bit of practice they get it right. They have continued to come back to it multiple times a day to play. They have also used the pieces to create their own puzzles and create things off of the puzzle board. It is a great toy for puzzle loving kids. The layout pattern is lined out underneath the pieces so they can put them in the correct place.

I appreciate that it is made of wood and seems very sturdy and should last a long time. I can say it’s a little tricky compared to other puzzles my son has done because they slide around until you have all the pieces in. It has the pattern printed on the board so he knows where to put them, which is helpful. Overall, I would recommend this product.

This puzzle has wooden colorful pieces and has the outline of the shapes that for the puzzle. The colors and material are very engaging, as well as the pattern (a rocket ship and planets), and my 4 year old immediately started to assemble. This was a challenging puzzle for him, so he spent some time working on it. I took a picture of the puzzle to help him see the final result while he was assembling, and this helped a lot.

It was too hard for my 2 year old to do on his own, but my 6 year old helped (and it kept him engaged). They also were able to use the different pieces to make their own creations. Very nice!

She loved matching the pieces to the diagram on the wooden board. There were 42 pieces total and some of the smaller pieces were tricky. The wood sturdy finish makes it durable and easy for my toddler to hold. The background of the tray has guidelines that help toddlers find the corresponding pieces. Our 5-year-old daughter absolutely loves the design of this puzzle. The shapes and colors make for a fun and entertaining project. I especially love how each piece is its own unique shape and not like a standard jig-saw type puzzle. These wooden blocks should last for years of play!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 4 year old and 6 year old each enjoyed this puzzle. The 3+ toy has a very engaging image of a rocket ship, which instantly caught my son's attention. The puzzle has some different hues of colors to help with matching and finding pieces, which was especially helpful for my 4 year old. Each piece felt sturdy, including the puzzle board. It felt like a quality product that could last at least one child. The puzzle board also has an outline of the image to assist with rebuilding/placing the puzzle pieces. However, a couple issues created some frustrations. One is that some of the pieces are irregularly shaped, so my 6 year old had an easier time completing the puzzle while my 4 year old got frustrated. Adding to the frustration is that the puzzle backboard does not have grooves like other wooden puzzles, so the pieces placed slide around and sometimes can seem like it's not the correct shape.

I love that the wooden pieces are identified on the board. This made his assembly of the puzzle easier because he was able to follow the shapes on the board. The pieces are easy to hold for his little hands. The bright colors benefit his learning of colors and shapes. This is a definite puzzle to include in our collection of puzzles.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an awesome puzzle! My children loved the wonderful texture and beautiful colors. The scene composition is inspiring - it's a rocket in space! My children (and I) assembled the puzzle together. This gave me a great way to encourage teamwork. It also became a learning opportunity. We talked about words like planet, rocket, space, moon, and more. We also reviewed and learned colors. I love that this puzzle has different shades of colors. I would give this five stars for all these reasons, except I wish that there was some kind of light magnet or stickiness to the pieces. They slide and move around very easily which makes it hard to keep in place as you progress. Also, I wish it had a storage bag or something to hold all the pieces so they don't get lost. The board does have an outline of the puzzle which is super helpful. This puzzle is engaging and keeps them entertained for a long time!
