About the Book

Amy's mother, father, brother, and the school principal use very unusual measures to try to get the sleepy girl out of bed.

Book Synopsis

Sometimes it's hard to wake up!

Amy stays up late watching TV, and in the morning she doesn't get up for school. Her whole family tries, to no avail, to get her on her feet. Finally, they give up and take her to school in her bed. There she snores away, through math, through recess, through gym, through English, until her family has to come take her home again. The next morning she wakes up bright and early . . . but what has happened to the rest of the kids in the class?

First published in 1998, this classic Munsch tale has been reimagined with fresh and energetic new illustrations by Dave Whamond.

"Get Out of Bed! takes the idea of sleeping in to a whole new level, and will satisfy [Munsch] fans' expectations of the absurd." (Get Out of Bed!) -- Quill & Quire

"Few children will be able to resist the temptation to saw logs along with Amy as her brother, her parents, her dog, and even the school principal fruitlessly try to rouse her. Another crowd pleaser from this popular author." (Get Out of Bed!) -- School Library Journal
