Grace Across Generations - by Steve S Chang (Paperback)

About the Book

Grace Across Generations equips Asian American parents to navigate cultural tensions with gospel wisdom, helping families build identity in Christ and pass down a lasting legacy of grace.

Book Synopsis

Grace Across Generations explores the unique cultural dimensions of parenting from an Asian American perspective, offering encouragement and actionable support for passing down a durable, gospel-centered faith.

Asian American Christian parents navigate a delicate balance of honoring cultural heritage while holding firmly to biblical principles. Most Christian parenting resources do not account for the cultural tensions, heart idols, and generational dynamics that shape these families. Editor Steve S. Chang, along with a trusted group of ministry leaders and counselors addresses this gap by applying gospel-centered theology within the lived realities of Asian American family life.

Grace Across Generations directly addresses these challenges while providing guidance for parents to help their children build their identity in Christ rather than in worldly success or cultural expectations. Rather than offering theory or cultural critique alone, the chapters combine biblical depth, pastoral wisdom, and practical application.

Includes chapters from over a dozen church leaders, teachers, and parents from the Asian American community, including Jonathan Holmes, Kim Kira, Faith Chang, Cory Ishida, Irene Sun, and Danny Kwon. Each chapter includes a discussion guide, making the book especially suited for small groups, parenting classes, and church-based family ministries.
