Description
Bring all the speed and excitement of a real Quidditch match to your home with Catch the Golden Snitch, a Quidditch game for witches, wizards, and muggles. Everyone plays at the same time as cards are quickly passed from player to player, each trying to build sets and earn points. In the center of the action lies an open Quidditch Chest, with a Quaffle, two Bludgers, and the all-important Golden Snitch. When you lay down certain cards, these magical items come out to play! A pair of Chaser cards lets you steal another player’s set, but if you’ve earned the Quaffle, you’re safe. Play a pair of Bludger cards, grab a Bludger, and throw it at a player of your choice -- if they swat the Bludger in air and it hits another player, that player must discard the cards in their hand. The action moves faster than a Nimbus 2000 as cards change hands, sets hit the table, and Bludgers hit their mark. When the Golden Snitch launches from the chest and into the air, grab it – it’s worth extra points! The game ends when the Golden Snitch is in hand; the player with the most points wins. For fast-paced action and excitement, play Catch the Golden Snitch with your wizarding family and friends. For ages 8+, 3 to 4 players. We just got this game and love it! It was quick to figure out, keeps everyone busy, and is alot of fun! We make the game as short or long as we like by adding multiple rounds together heading for a winning score of 150 or whatever we choose. Definitely recommend!

This is game is a lot of fun. The only downside is that the snitch doesn’t fly very far so whoever puts the bludger in gets it. Also the bludgers can hurt so if you have kids that throw hard warn them!

One weird rule is that you are supposed to roll the bludger to see if you can hit another person. This seems like a terrible idea for a game. We play ignoring that rule. Not my favorite game.

I purchased this for my 11 year old niece's birthday. She's currently reading the second Harry Potter book and is obsessed. This game has a lot of "rules" that can be hard to keep track of and remember, especially for younger kids. We chose to leave some out and change some others and let me tell you, we had a blast! Playing with 2 adults, and 2 kids (11 & 12), there was a constant barrage of "Hey you! CATCH!!". The excitement of the Golden Snitch flying out of the box was exhilarating for all kids and adults involved! LOL Playing in an open area is a good idea, as the smaller balls can easily roll under things and get lost. I would highly recommend this game for the Harry Potter fan in your life.

The rules are a bit complicated, so it took us a little time to get the hang of all of the different facets of it. It is a fast-moving game, and I agree that it is for kids ages 8 and up. My husband and I enjoy playing this too, so it really is a perfect family game. If your kids love Harry Potter, this game is a no-brainer. They will without a doubt absolutely love it! I would definitely recommend this to any Harry Potter fan!
