Beautiful to use as decor

I love all of Myquillyn Smith’s books. This one is just beautiful and is my favorite so far. It is filled with inspiring photos and simple tips that anyone can follow. Her ideas are relatable and can be applied to any style or budget. I recommend her books and coordinating podcast to everyone. I also love it because as a busy mom, I can read just a few tips at a time, or look for something specific. Since they are split into one page rules, it is super easy to read a bit at a time or just look for little doses of inspiration. This is truly the only home decor book you might ever need! Spend the money and buy the book! If you are like me you will save time, energy, and/or money on any future decorating you do in your home.

Whether you live in an apartment, room that you rent, tiny house, or mansion, even if you don’t think you can make decisions to make it more “you”, you can! Myquillyn’s “rules” lay the groundwork and once you know them you’ll know why some decisions don’t work and can choose to break the “rules” on purpose. The layout of the book is fantastic, with one page of text and a gorgeous photo for each rule. At the back there’s an index (prettier than a typical index), telling which page the rule is elaborated on, and pages it’s mentioned on. The book is large, beautiful, and will make a great gift for everyone, no matter their circumstances. You don’t need money to make it beautiful, and Myquillyn shows you how. Her words are kind, her story is relatable, ideas are doable, and she mixes in her sense of humor. I have all four of her fabulous books, and recommend them all, but this is my new favorite!

Yes, Myquillyn"s book is a great, practical book about the process of making decisions about your home that will help you love it. But her wisdom can also be applied to almost any life decision in which you feel stuck. It's that good.

This is Myquillyn’s biggest and best book to date! She’s done a masterful job of summarizing 100 bits of wisdom, advice, examples & encouragement for those of us who want to live in a functional & beautiful home. Each “rule” is accompanied by a full color photograph from her current home or her previous home as an example and inspiration. No matter what your personal style, these decorating truths and foundational concepts apply to every home & work for every budget. The only thing more helpful than this book 🙃 would be joining Nester’s private CoMi Facebook group where likeminded people learn together and encourage each other to make meaningful progress on their homes. 🤍🤍🤍

I've read all of Myquillin's books and will buy every book she writes for the rest of my life. She is the embodiment of encouragement and TRUE TEACHING when it comes to decorating and making decisions in your home. I've learned so much from her that it's hard to quantify as it goes to a quality of life measurement that's simply priceless. Unlike other decorating gurus, Myquillin actually shows you how to do what seems to be the impossible - decorate like a pro. She has filled a niche for all of us who want to take action in our homes, not just peruse gorgeous photos and daydream about their designs.

I just adore all of Myquillyn’s books, but this one is the icing on the cake!! She has given us simple, and easy to understand rules for making our homes feel like we want them to. Myquillyn teaches us to find our style, and not just how to imitate hers. This book is a must have for anyone who loves home!!!

I love all that Mquillyn does - her podcast, Cozy Minimalist Community, her newsletter, and of course her books! Her newest book House Rules did not disappoint! I highly recommend it if you're in need of guidance with interior design- and who isn't? Even as somewhat of an industry insider (Realtor/Home Stager, I am constantly learning from Myq. Highly recommend this, her latest, and check out her other offerings, too!
