About the Author



Fran Bailey grew up on a cut-flower nursery near York. After studying at the Welsh College Of Horticulture, she moved to London, where she opened The Fresh Flower Company in 2006.

Zia Allaway is a qualified horticulturalist who has written and edited a range of gardening books, including the RHS Encyclopedia of Plants and Flowers. Zia writes a monthly column on garden design for Homes and Gardens magazine and contributes to Garden Design Journal.

The title should have been cacti and succulents, of primary arid regions, with a smattering of others.

Not really a houseplant book more a cacti and succulent book page 194-243 covered cacti with only 4 of those being tropical cacti pg 244-299 covered succulents, they skimmed over some big hitters like hoya only had 1 plant listed there were no jewel orchid species listed ... I was really excited for this book but i would have looked for a succulent book if that's what i wanted i feel as though it was misleading . It is beautiful and has some great projects it was less than i was expecting from a dk publication and i go out of my way to get them, so if your looking for a succulent book with a handful of other plants thus is your book . If your looking for a comprehensive houseplant book with a well rounded selection of plants keep looking
